How do you cut the saltiness of SPAM when you eat it?

it's just so salty

Seasoning helps. Eggs and cheese in a tortilla with some chalula green sauce.

Good question. I used to love spam, but lately I’ve been getting very bad heartburn after eating it.

Edit:
A nice chili/hot sauce should take the salty edge off.

I like either the Hickory Smoked or Reduced Sodium Spams. Honestly I like Spam in general but those two cut down on the almost bitter saltiness of regular Spam.

Are you guys aware that you can buy single slices of Spam in places like Dollar General and Family Dollar? They are not overly salty either and are on the thin side.

Cold on a Ritz cracker in the deer woods is how I prefer it.

If you are not up to the challenge, you can get low sodium spam.

I prefer the SPAM Lite, less salt and fat.  Just tastes better to me.  Whether regular or lite, fry it with some eggs, put it in rice, sandwiches with cheese all seems to cut the salt taste.

I never thought it was too salty.

Maybe I am going to die

You can rinse slices in water. That helps a bit. But it's just laden with sodium. It is what it is.

I cook it with something else and don't add any salt.  Eggs, red beans and rice, etc.

Or, if you really want to get the salt out, cut it up into chunks and soak it in water for a couple of hours.

Vietnamese have a dish called Ca Sot Ca Chua (which is a fried fish sauteed in tomatoes). Well you can replace the fish with a piece of pan fried spam. The acidity of the tomatoes cut the saltiness some and eating it with white rice

I chunk it up in ramen noodles, never noticed ay extra saltiness.

Fry it. Eat with unsalted eggs and lightly salted grits. Or on toast and jelly. Or in a Spam, lettuce, and tomato. It’s about like bacon to me.

Eat it with something sweet; a local places serves fried spam sliders on Hawaiian sweet rolls with slaw and spicy mayo, they're amazing.

This is what I do, but with syrup, I make a sandwich between to pieces of french toast and cover it with syrup. Using bacon spam btw, the only spam

I don’t. I like salt.

I went to the Bonneville Salt Flats, and do you know what I said?

“Hmm, needs more salt.”

I do get the low sodium option.  I also usually don't salt anything I'm eating along side of it.

My favorite thought is fried SPAM on saltines with yellow mustard.  The saltines don't do much to cut down the salt.....

Not me, tried it once and whatever they use as a meat filler to make it "lite" tasted like I was eating what whale blubber would taste like.

Gotta fry it in bacon grease!  But mix it up with some chunks of potatoes and onions and fry it all up together.
