Every post and every @ and every mention of someone's name in others' posts (if it's a unique moniker) are disappeared - like they never existed. @Goatboy Thoughts? The nuke your history options above (quoted) are a little more complex than I want to have to deal with. We'll find a way to make it simple and effective. We also will be doing other things like removing access to archives for a bit, referral vetting system, user tool for name changes, and more. This will be a multilevel strategy to help lock this place down. |

Quoted: We aren't talking about actual mission planning here. If you're working on no shit action plans against the government that should be done entirely face to face and not on the internet at all. This is about voicing beliefs against the king. Were there no openly held opinions prior to 1776? Folks with open opinions and talk were usually dragged out of their homes. There's a reason they met in secret. |

Quoted: Wrong. This was the plan all along. Maybe it accelerated it. That's possible, but they didn't steal and election just to leave things the way they are, right? This was indeed the left's plan and the folks who rioted at the capitol allowed them to accelerate their schedules. Talk about shooting the rest of us in the foot. The sooner everyone learns to leave emotion out of it and laser focus on the goals, the better off we will be. The rally was amazing, the capitol attack was stupid. Now we are faced with less freedom as the Marxist plan continues to move through it's phases. Communication is now up and we are seeing it being taken from us as quickly as possible. This is the current fight many of us need to focus on. We need communication channels! Yesterday I asked for the HAM guys to come into GD and get folks prepared on cheap/simple HAM setups so everyone has a backup system in place to communicate. I would suggest as many as possible follow their advice and prepare themselves properly. It's not just a firearm and ammo, if you are caught alone and unprepared, you will be washed away in a tidal wave. We need to form a wall that the wave will break against. That's assuming a wave comes. I still have hope that America will see that we cannot survive without each other. We need to stop fighting and start working together to solve problems. |

Quoted: I swear that some of you guys talk about Q more than the Qtards do. You're both obsessed with the garbage. My issue is continuing to allow an enemy operation continue unabated. Especially when so many members confess they get more or less all their information here. |

Quoted: I don't have any "friends/family and trusted folks" on here. Some people may recognize my avatar/username, but no one will "vet" me. This site shouldn't be some kind of emulator of fakefook. It is not entirely a peer 2 peer vetting. Things like history on here will be used as well. If done right, it will not only make sense, but work as intended. And please don't expect perfection on day one. A lot of this stuff takes time, effort, and feedback. This will also live as an additional level of security, not a replacement for current things. |

There are established members here refusing to accept that many of those who broke into the Capitol and ran around were ANTIFA infiltrators planted to incite exactly this type of reaction. There are established members here refusing to accept that the Leftist media is going on and on about the dead officer, yet outright ignoring the murder of Ashli Babbitt and thus the hypocrisy is generating blowback in the case of the dead officer. There are established members here refusing to accept the irony of the Leftist media going on and on about the dead officer, yet demonizing the same police officers and agencies as fascists for more than a decade. There are established members here refusing to accept that Trump is not the target of these attacks and efforts, he is merely a symbol, that the real targets are the established members here. Just a reminder: Murder of Ashli Babbitt |

Quoted: Like I told GoatBoy, Everything is political on here and most places for that matter. This is because everything revolves arounds specifics, as you of all people know. Start a thread on GD about nuclear proliferation or a 1978 Chevy Cavalier, and within six posts, politics will creep into the thread...By page three, there are fourteen edgelords and sixty herp derps....Look at this forum this morning...Everything has a political edge to it. The politics forum.....Yawn. If you're going to move all political discussion to the politics forum, you may as well move the entire GD to that forum. These aren't the things that need to be moved. I think you all just want to see doom and gloom and want to project your fears into the reality. We are fighting against COC violations and the folks TRYING to get the site shut down. As most of you are aware, there are folks here purely to shut us down and pretend to be us until they can act. This is when we will see a number of weird accounts pop up and say stupid shit. They are doing this on Parler and look how well it worked. If you see someone acting wrong, like a leftist plant you claim are everywhere, then let us know so they can be handled. DO NOT just report folks with differing opinions. |
|
Quoted: So I'm guessing this isn't a good time to start a thread titled, I will not comply? Why not? I will not comply. Just make sure that thread isn't derailed by morons who want to pretend they will turn into rambo. The key isn't the topic of discussion as it is the emotion of those posting. If people start saying stupid shit, we will act as needed and according the the COC (which hasn't changed folks!) to fix it. I've tried to make this clear for staff and mods on when to move topics out of GD. |

I wrote out long and thought out comment but it turned sour so I'm starting over. Just today, I have been booted out of more than one thread that I had either replied or was trying to reply in. It was aggravating. I understand my views on the matter mean jack shit to most guys here, but since I was on the fence about buying a membership and I read the thread I'll comment too. It is difficult to see the benefits of a paywall to real political discussions and debate. What actual benefit is there to a paywall? How does it protect the site at all? I could see it reducing the number of crash and burn type trolls who show up for 5 posts and get banned but how much damage can they do.. honestly. They already don't have access to "team" and it won't stop them from pulling the same stuff in gd, or any other accessible area of the site anyway, so to me, it does nothing to stop trolls. The real threat from malicious behavior (imo) wouldn't be deterred by 24 bucks a year. Like infiltration, data mining for doxing, soup agencies of I'll intent etc. They will play the long game, or whatever they need to do. My point is, there are many who come for the tech forums and stay for the political debate and arguments. Or even just for the political debate. I myself only joined after talking to a member at my state Capitol who was there to stop the out of touch "law makers" from attempting to pass unlawful anti gun/anti liberty "laws" in other words, politics. Is it really worth alienating huge numbers to prevent a few wild cards? Wild cards that if malicious, will probably be successful in their goals anyway. I say not. Especially to what sorry to say, looks like capitulation to vile dogs. They already see anything right of them as "literally Hitler". So again, what benefit is there to do this? What don't I see that makes it a good idea? Coc violations are already very strictly enforced, (I got a temporary account lock, reason involved asking about the tree of liberty needing a watering and the coc. Answer was yes lol! To be fair I was not being pleasant but the irony was not lost) and apparently no changes will be made to the coc, so it doesn't make sense to me. Also the tier system that was discussed. That obviously won't work out well for guys with unpopular opinions. Maybe that's part of the point. But as someone with unpopular opinions, lies, illogical arguments and bad ideas should and can be easily refuted with truth, logical counterpoints and good ideas. Most of the time, If you can't refute them than you're either not knowledgeable in the subject, or you might not be right.. |

If this had been a BLM riot where an officer had died, what would those same members have said? This was a guy just doing his job and his job wasn’t oppressing Trump supporters. IDGAF that members of Congress got a little scared but people cheering on this guy’s death need to take a hard look in the mirror. |

Quoted: Ah........so the old will be gone and we start afresh? Additional layer of security for forums. Not really much of a change. Think of a couple new forums with this new security group stuff as the most likely scenario. It's just a different way to vet users and be able to have more "secure" areas. We can just leave forums alone and just classify discussions based on risk factor, and then put them in escalated levels instead of trashing them. So a thread that would be trashed, may go to level 3 to save it. Then maybe level 4 if it gets worse. Eventually trash if needed. It will disappear for those who aren't vetted enough to see it. These are just EXAMPLES, there is no strategy right now on how we want to put this into effect and will let membership help decide our best course of action. |

Those cheering are the problem. Temp or Perm ban worthy. The same for folks who cheered the death of anyone else from the event. Team mod thinks it ok, because we must not be an echo chamber. Give me the link to that. Saying she was a dumb ass for climbing in the window isn't a horrid thing. Supporting her death or the actions of the shooter is fucked up. Ive seen the videos countless times and there was ZERO reason for that shot to be taken. The person didn't even shout out warnings ahead of the shooting. It seemed like pure panic. The weird part is that area of the capitol was heavy on police (stairwell) and light on rioters. There were not many there. That in itself was lucky because if this shot had taken place in the mass of the mob, the story would have been very different and the situation much much worse. |

Quoted: Back in the day, our government busted monopolies. Standard Oil all the way to AT&T. At this point, the Media, in all of its manifestations, needs to be busted. But, our government/bureaucracy appears complicit in their preservation. This is confusing. We like the power of the government to break up monopolies now? Or we like the free market thing? |

Quoted: This is confusing. We like the power of the government to break up monopolies now? Or we like the free market thing? Even if these companies are found to be monopolies, and even if they are broken up, it's not as if those entities would be owned by the government...they would be competing with one another in the free market. Personally, I'd be less inclined to consider them a monopoly if there was an alternative to (for example), Android and iOS. And I'd like them to be liable for the speech they allow if they are going to curate. Section 230 protection needs to be removed if they're going to curate content. We have government because we need it. The founders did an experiment with "the government that governs least". It lasted less than 10 years after it was ratified. There are things we need government to do well, and it's disingenuous to pretend that the free market could. Similarly, there are things the free market does well, and it's disingenuous to pretend that the government should do those things. We need both, for different reasons. Finding an acceptable balance remains the challenge. |

I guess this is my first post here. I am a very long time active member at M4C and am on here all day too. This place has been my go to for real-time news especially since the election. I cross post good info from here over there as needed. So much great info here. I just ordered a CCrane radio today on recommendation from the radio thread. So are guys like me going to be locked out with these new security measures? I sure hope not. This and M4C are really my only sources of news and comms at the moment. Honestly the only reason I don’t post is because I see all the hate toward new members and I have no desire to start trouble and get ostracized. |
