What is interesting about that article is again the setup of the NRA as the bad guy. The press is now running with this as if it's a fait accompli.

Hell, The NRA A-rated Republican state Senator Anitere Flores got caught pandering to gun control moms last year in her bid to become mayor of Miami (IIRC), then got caught fucking a Democrat state Senator (both he and she are married to others).

Since the Republicans hold a decent margin in the Senate what are the chances an anti-gun Democrat gets to push his amendment through in a committee meeting?  They only way that should happen is if the Republican leadership allows it.

One thing that might be useful to remind/inform them of, if they pull the BS that 80% of gun owners want an AW ban,  is that the state fairgrounds gun show over the weekend had record numbers, meaning gun owners and new gun owners are coming out of the wood work to purchase firearms.  If people were demanding gun control like the anti-gunners claim the gun show should have seen a decline, not a record number surge.

They voted down bringing the Assault Weapons Ban out of committee. They did not directly vote against it.

The Senate Rules Committee is meeting at the Knott Building at the Capitol at 2:30pm.

Parking is gonna be a bitch as is getting into it. I know Moms Demand Action are going to be there in full force.

That was the House that voted it down.  What is happening today is an amendment to a Senate bill.  Even if the amendment did succeed, the bill would have to go to the House for a vote.  Which would kill the entire bill, not just the poison pill amendment.

The bill in question can be found here.  There are multiple amendments listed as well.  It looks like the bill implements everything that Rick Scott was asking for.

Looks like this a vote in the rules committee on the amendments to the bill. I emailed every state senator on the rules committee a copy of their oath of office as well as the 2nd amendment. I know it probably won't do any good, they know they violated their oaths long ago. I was kind of just hoping to remind them the people are watching.

The term "mass shooting" means an incident in which four or more people are killed or injured by firearms in one or more locations in close proximity.

Amendment 411458 is the Assault Weapons Ban.

Amendment 812202 makes possession of a Bump Stock a Felony.

Amendment 697008 makes a requirement to have a safe, trigger lock, etc... basically you cannot keep a gun unlocked or loaded in your home.

Amendment 197998 makes registration legal in Florida.

Amendment 504798 makes universal background checks and ends private sales.

I wrote to all my representatives and tried to explain that these laws are never going to help.  I am a former resident of NJ, where they have some of the nations strongest gun control laws, and they do nothing to curb crime or gun violence.  It only restricts those that are willing to follow laws.  This is an emotional reaction to a tragedy, exactly the wrong time to enact legislation.  I’m disgusted.

With the millions of libs moving here from new york and other states I don’t know how were going to keep Florida red. They destroyed the north east and now they will destroy florida. Add puerto rico to that mix. We’re fucked.
