A friend of mine, Don, was one of Mayhew's best friends. I only met him once when Don and I met him for lunch in Dallas.

Very nice guy...and tallllll.

He did a few local dfw call in's on sports radio - 1310 'bad radio' several years ago.
Everybody loves Chewie, but Peter Mayhew came across as a very squared away, down to earth guy as well.

He seemed like a really cool guy. Even saw Harrison Ford smiling and hugging Peter at some cast appearance a few years ago. Ford is usually about as expressive as a cigar-store indian. If he's smiling and showing affection it must have been something special.

In all seriousness, Peter seemed to really enjoy meeting fans and he bore his health problems with good humor and grace. God bless him, he was a part of my childhood memories.

Have met Peter and his wife several times over the years at dog events, (we adopted our dogs through the same rescue group).

They were fun to hang out with and talk dogs, really good people.
