The only thing they have too much of is government.   Funny how they're now running out of everything else.

Let me explain something. You only have one chance to not try full on socialism. Because once you go whole Hogg and all in full retard, you can't unelect them. They'll have 99% of the vote in every election until the end. That's pretty clear from history.

And throughout history the result is the same. Same playbook and actions. Same result. Something definitively of insanity. What fascinated me is how fast it happened. Just one guy did all this damage. And the people lapped it up and demand more.

Now only if a strong military leader could get a coup going and restore order and fairness. You know. For the people. Wait what!!?  Isn’t that how they got here?

Well......it isn't TRUE socialism (sarcasm).  They just need more of someone else's money to fix the problem, then the socialist paradise can show the world how wonderful things are (still more sarcasm).

A country that has enough oil and other resources that they might actually be able to make socialism work if it wasn't for rampant corruption, inept leaders, and lousy accounting.  A country with enough oil resources that it is like they are pumping money out of the ground, and they still can't make socialism work.  That tells me that there is an underlying flaw in the idea of socialism...mostly greed, and human nature.

Not sure what makes it all happen but I see Africa kicked out their white oppressor colonialists.   And they revert back to the Stone Age. (Via corruption, cronyism, ineptness, laziness, odd superstitious beliefs).

Central America and South America are pretty much on the same path,   Kick out the European families who Settled  there and ran their countries.   In comes socialism to empower the poor uneducated natives who coming out of the jungles finally.    Yep pull a hard left into the gutter.

India did the same but I am not sure if India counts.  They were old third world with centuries of worthless lives (on their caste scale not ours). Britain came in for awhile and built some modern administration.  In came socialism and of course India is still India.

I am not sure why we expect things to turn out like Western Europe.  Different cultures and different environments form a different mindset.

Sorry I am sure that is tantamount to embracing white male privilege.

Endless free shit is just too attractive. It's all shiny and sparkly. And the people promising it always seem so confident and serious. Surely they wouldn't lie?
And they never stop. Whenever you work hard every day, yet you seem to not be doing as well as you feel you should, and here's a guy promising they sky...

People just can't help thinking how wonderful it would be. Maybe we should try it, it can't be worse, can it?

Because, everyone that knows that it can be worse is dead or too old to be relevant. In two generations, eastern Europe will be ready to give it another try. Three at the outside.

Read Marx some time, and tell me that 'true socialism/communism' isn't tribal subsistence farming.  I'm convinced that's what his ultimate goal, his 'grand utopian vision' of the heights that mankind can achieve, was really all about.  I think he was a Hobbesian pessimist who believed we would be happiest living as the beasts we are, beholden to the whims of weather and superstition.  The collapse of socialism is the end goal, not a bug; it just gets screwed up by all the non-communist countries' success coming afterward to tempt the workers back to capitalism.  But if the whole world were communist, perhaps it could be collapsed simultaneously into a dark age, after all memory of free exercise had first been erased...then you'd be able to convince people that their best option was rooting through dirt and dying of cholera in the shadow of decaying city ruins, contributing their meager production to the local fief lord & his enforcers.

We may be able to pull this off if we remind our commies that they have educations (may be lib arts but its a degree) and they could be hailed at liberators in the place they are going to.  We would have to just make sure to strip them of US citizenship, of and bar congressmen and senators from going down there.

Prior to the collapse of Socialism since they ran out of other peoples' money. The vast majority of Venezuelans loved Chavez and supported him.

The problem with both socialism and communism is that they fail to take into account human nature.  Given the opportunity, humans are generally greedy, and self centered.  When they realize that their hard work supports those who don't want to work, the incentive to continue working to support lazy people quickly disappears.

I have read much of the socialist/communist propositions, and I am not a fan.  I agree that both tend to devolve societies, which eventually revert back into capitalism after socialism and communism fail.  Even during their "prime" , socialist and communist countries have to deal with other countries on a capitalist basis.  To say that the whole world has to become socialist/communist for those systems to work is a cop out...much like religions saying that people who don't believe simply need more faith.

Both are Pollyanna systems that eventually fail in the real world.  The Soviet Union learned that, and now China is dealing with other countries as a capitalist country.

I just can't believe it.

Our leftists believe the only reason communism hasn't worked anywhere on the planet it's been tried is because THEY haven't been in charge. They hope to fix that.

Speaking of deserts and sand...

Saudi Arabia has reportedly imposed strict border checks to enforce a ban on the export of sand.

There are fears that the growing demands of the construction industry could lead to a shortage in the desert kingdom...
LINK

One of our clients was the largest cement producer in the world, and I learned that it was necessary to ship in sand when building in the Middle Eastern deserts. The reason is that the desert sand consists of particles that are constantly blown and tumbled, and therefore are worn "smooth" when looked at under magnification. In order to properly bind together in concrete, the sand particles need to have some texture, so desert sand produces concrete that isn't sufficiently strong for most building applications.
