Speaking of deserts and sand...

Saudi Arabia has reportedly imposed strict border checks to enforce a ban on the export of sand.

There are fears that the growing demands of the construction industry could lead to a shortage in the desert kingdom...

Couldn't care less. They re-elected the same Socialist scumbags that created the problems to begin with. Even the right wing couldn't unite behind one person to get rid of them. Any one of them would have been an improvement but no, they insisted on screwing themselves. The whole country can suffer till hell freezes over and thaws out.

and the fine folks from Venezuela who rigged their election have been hired by California to run it's next election

yes, it's true - but it sure reads like Poe's Law at work, doesn't it?

Lol, communist dictator banned guns long ago. The reason of course was to stop all the “gun violence”. And the people begged for it.

Marxists have a playbook they always follow.

Uh, no. They are running out of the means of moving it around. But since the grocery shelves are bare they won't require as much water to wash down meals, so I guess you could say Socialism is still working for them.

It's illegal or impractical in many countries to stockpile or prepare, including Germany.

In the US, we have vast spaces in even what are considered small homes, for things like food storage and water barrels.

I have entire rooms dedicated to it, but would be arrested if I tried it in Germany.

Chavez took over everything. Food, water, oil, education, housing, healthcare, land etc. then put the smart people of government in charge. It’s really fascinating to read about. A prosperous country turned into starving crisis in just 15 years. That’s all it took. 15 years of communism to destroy a nation.

Obviously they should all allowed to come to the US of A until this crisis is over. Of course a decade later a light bulb would go off in someones head in the gov't and say hey remember the tens of thousands of refugees we let in shouldn't they go home now. The left would step in and say no way, this is all they know, they started lives here, they had children here.

Military officers have begun commandeering trucks, according to a dozen water providers in Caracas. Drivers are forced to go wherever officers tell them without the expectation of pay. Sometimes they’re led to government buildings, others to military residences or private homes.

They used to be able to grow food/argriculture. Then gov took over the land, kicked the generational farmers who knew how off and then wonder why they now have to import all their food.

But hey, that’s the people’s land now and the people can’t grow shit nor keep a cow alive. Free food for everybody!  Wait, where’s the free food?

No, no, no, no.  They have the smarts and the people.  Those people just won't do it for fear

of being called enemies of the state for being smarter or harder working.

Venezuela's problems are the direct result of America's industrial activities that are causing global warming, right?

Al Gore predicted this crisis.

Maduro didn't buy enough carbon credits and this is what happens.

When Venezuela finally collapses into anarchy and martial violence, finding the resources to maintain any prolonged military activity is going to fall upon outside sources to create that supply chain.

Imagine Caracas Colombia.
