And when I say I know him, he was one of the Platoon Sgts when I was on guard duty and later my boss. I was just curious, I saw/can still see the whole album on FB. I remember that pic. I can't remember if he said that was an actual Mk11 or an SR-25, PVS-22 or 27 or whatnot. I do know that I was jealous as shit when it was posted

Eight Full Moons,released by the Latvian army covering their special operations ETT at OP Pirtle-King. 2 Latvians were killed along with Pirtle and King ( along with another American) when OP Bari Alai was overran by Taliban,with quite a bit of supposition that some of the ANA there helped them by disabling Claymores,refusing to fight and even killing the ANA who chose to do so before surrendering...
It's mostly subtitled except when speaking to Americans but may be something you'll find interesting.

U.S. Army Sergeant Derek D. Niegsch, Medical Branch Instructor, International Special Training Center instructs multinational Soldiers as part of the International Special Training Center Advanced Medical First Responder Course, conducted by the ISTC Medical Branch, Feb. 17-19, 2015 in Pfullendorf, Germany. The students from the United States and European allies received the training to enhance their medical skills to support NATO Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen and treat combat trauma casualties using special forces-oriented medical procedures and skills. The ISTC provides centralized training for NATO Special Forces and similar units in Europe. The center is run by a cadre of instructors from nine member nations-Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Turkey and the United States. I had several friends that were infantry, 6-101 AVN Pathfinder Detachment. There was a lot of posturing between the two polar opposites of Army life, but when it came down to brass tacks the posturing went out the window and we had each others backs. I can see that in the Hon. Brad Carlson and that is truly all that matters. |
