2002 F250 crew cab XLT short box 4x4 (no offroad package though), 7.3 diesel with 95k miles. 6" lift, brand new 35" tires, looks to be super clean. They want $23,995 and are damn firm on it.

Opinions?

Are you high? Its a 11 year old truck with 100K. 10-12K gets you in line with actual value.

What about a RR, or a RDIAS?

That's INSANE. Seriously, thats twice what that truck is worth. Its super clean though!

The 7.3 was a good engine in its day, but if your looking for HP, or a truck that doesn't ride and drive like a brick mounted to a dull pair of unlaced figure skates, look elsewhere.

NOPE. It appears very clean but, too many miles for the price and its been lifted..Cant haul shit because it wont handle correctly. Unless you just plan on driving around town pumping black diesel smoke at intersections.

that truck looks really clean, no apparent rust or even leaks on it from photos .. engine bay looks good, but i would add another 6k and get a 2012 xl 4x4 crew cab diesel BRAND new with full warranty and everything ..

As low as they were running that thing on fuel, I'd wonder how much more life the fuel pump has in it...

You could buy 2 of those trucks for that.

TOO MUCH!!!!!!  The mileage on a diesel is no big deal but you can get a lot newer for less.

ETA: What else did they do to it? There could be a lot of upgrades on the engine and tranny. As I was saying too much I remembered a friend who was selling his 05 Dodge for 23K because of the new motor and trans in it.

Wow. High price.

I have a '99 F350, 7.3, 4x4, crew cab, long bed, bought at 100k miles, pretty clean...10k

Don't let them pressure you into paying more than you think its worth, I did that one and a differential and transfer case later I traded to POS in.

Did you check KBB.com?? Its showing it around 15 ish in my zip (private party). You can add maybe 3k for the lift and tires. Its clean, dont get me wrong, but no, bad deal.

That's a tough one, that's low mileage on an excellent example of one of the greatest trucks made in the last 25 years.  As someone in the car business, that's a nice truck.  However, it's too much money.  Fair price on that should really be around 20k.

But then again, if I were selling that truck and someone came in and offered me 20, I'd look them in the eye and say, "Find another one."  Because you won't, not that clean with mileage like that.

Way too high of a price.

Hell, I've got an '06 Ram 3500 with the Cummins and 6-spd, with only 56k miles on it and I can't sell it for $19k

thats what the damn highschool kids around here do..Lifted truck and at every intersection they romp on it and you cant see anything except black smoke for about a block.

As far as pulling things, a buddy of mine lifted his f250 6 inches, big tires, and when pulling a car  trailer it never handled right again.

Yep, the older ones have shot up in value as everyone learns the new Urea crap sucks ass. That said you could buy that truck in AK for under 10k a few months ago. I have a 3 position chip for that truck if it is a VH2 code (I think)

I traded my 02 F350 in on an 05 Dually, I got 27k for it with 87k miles, in April 05. Wish I still had both those trucks. Now I just have my old 97 7.3 and an 04 F450, never had a bad Ford Truck.

That is an old ass truck that has had the shit detailed out of it, nothing more.  It's not that clean either.  The sides of the frame, diff, springs, etc have all been painted to make your think "it's never been off the road".  Cheap fake ass chrome all over it and 4 off-brand no-name tires that are too small for the truck.  No fucking thanks.

I wouldn't go anywhere near $20k on it. And I hate it when they coat everything black to make it look new, usually there's overspray all over and it takes a while for slow leaks to resurface after it was all washed off.
Don't fall in love with thing and stick closer to about a $15k max. for one in nice shape.

Yeah, ummm no.  It's worth maybe 2/3 of that, max, if it's spotless and in perfect mechanical condition.

I wouldn't.  While the 7.3 was a great motor, it wasn't without it's problems.

That's a lot of coin for a 12 year old truck with that mileage.

Way too much.

Im looking for a 7.3 as well, but most I have been seeing are in the 10-15K range.

That's a ridiculous figure on that truck. Don't let people tack on thousands for cosmetic improvements. Although I'm quite fond of the 7.3's I think 12k is a more reasonable number. I'd say look elsewhere and buy one from an old fart who babied it. I have a 2001 7.3 4x4 with 340k on it that I bought at 315k from an old timer in pristine condition for 7500 and its my daily driver with no issues.
