[ARCHIVED THREAD] - SIG “ The P320. It ends today.” (Page 85 of 142)

Quoted: I just keep checking in, fingers crossed, to see if they institute any "trade in/trade up" options - Ima gonna hold out on my two now, to see if maybe I might one day end up with two P365s or the like. ![]() Well, save yer mags - if you don't end up w/ a 250, you can drop $2k on their 2011 that takes 320 mags. |

Apparently there was another 'Sigcident' ![]() ![]() Initial report that an SRO with a 320, went off in the holster and injured her leg, when her dominant hand was up on her backpack. Apparently it's on video and they are supposed to be trying to get a copy of the video out. We'll see. Also more mocking of GBRS 'Goobers' for schilling for Sig. |

Buddy who works there told me they are no longer taking p320's on trade. |

Cross post from the nuts thread Quoted: Does anyone know if these P320 discharges have included the thumb safety version? I have a P320 / M17 bravo. The all black commercial version from the first year the Army awarded Sig the handgun contract. Any mechanical difference between a P320 and a M17? |

I haven’t followed the issue closely, but if there haven’t been M17/18 reports the. It would potentially lean toward supporting the issue as a light trigger/operator error problem over a straight internal mechanical issue. I’ve stayed away from them because I think there is a safety issue with the gun either way, mechanical defect or just too light/short trigger. |

New Gray Guns video![]() The P320 Sear Safety Cam Explanation |
|
He's saying that the sear punch test is irrelevant because "It causes the striker to release before the safety lever has disengaged the striker lock" and he says this makes pushing the sear down to see if the striker catch works (NOT to test the sear, that is NOT what that is about) dangerous and irrelevant??!? If by the phrase "striker lock" he means the striker safety lever ("the catch") ... thats ... exactly ... what the test is SUPPOSED TO DO. It's meant to see if the striker safety lever catches and stops the striker when the sear lets go WITHOUT a trigger pull. The striker safety is SUPPOSED to be "down" so it can catch the striker. THAT'S THE POINT. Nothing more. ----------------- dude explains what the leg that 3p320s in a suit cut off is theoretically supposed to do. "pushing on the sear out of context doesn't reflect real behavior" It's NOT SUPPOSED TO. All you are doing is moving the sear out of the way without messing with the striker safety lever *to see if the striker safety lever catches the striker.* I think (???) he may be right about pretravel and timing in the gun re: safety lever pushing the striker safety lever up at the right time. Basically he's going after 3p320s in a trench suit's video testing the removal of the lower leg bit and people who are taking out the pre-travel to try and attempt to do the same thing as the lower leg removal. Y'all who actually have the guns should be in a far better position than me to sort this. This just commentary from some schmuck who watched the grey guns vid. The video makes me feel mildly gaslit re: the attemps to toss cold water on people testing the function of the striker safety lever. I am not an expert, the son of one, or a gunsmith. Take this for what it's worth. |

Quoted: Rear sights/optics plates falling off .mil pistols: Given what is happening with 320s all over this is probably the least worrisome problem. |

Ben Stoeger having fun commenting on this ... ![]() We get footage of the latest sigcident |

Quoted: I was privy to my LGS disposition spreadsheet for May. 44 Glocks (all models) 38 Rugers (pistols and revolvers) 22 P365s 7 P320s I'm a bit surprised that there are gun shops that still sell these things. I wouldn't want the liability. Not that the sigcidents happen to a large proportion of guns; just that at this point I imagine that every accident that happens with one is going to be blames on the pistol's shitty design and/or Sig's shitty QC. |

Quoted: I wouldn't want the liability. It's the official handgun of multiple federal agencies and the US military, as well as a bunch of state and local police agencies. Sig says there's no problem with the guns. The government says there's no problem with the guns. Liability concerns are minimal for selling them as there's all kinds of reasons to deny there is a problem. |

Liability concerns are minimal for selling them as there's all kinds of reasons to deny there is a problem. “You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.” -Sig Sour CEO ~2030 (name pending) How many Sigcidents can be ignored and overlooked before even the big Federal agencies and military have to admit that there's a problem? Hundreds? Thousands? Sig rewrote the manual to say that their combat/duty pistol can't be safely carried with a round in the chamber. That's essentially a written admission of the problem. We're already at the stage where many notable organizations want nothing to do with the P320, and individuals are offloading them for a Sig-nificant discount. It seems there is a credibly suspected Sigcident caught on film weekly now. The injuries and lawsuits will pile up into the dozens or hundreds. In my opinion, if Sig doesn't address it, all the customers eventually will. It may take 5-10 years, but I think that will eventually include the military. And that timeline gets sped up a lot if there's an incident where an injured servicemen involves Congress. I would love to see Hawley question the Sig CEO at a hearing. "Just how many Sigcidents do you think is too many before issuing a recall?" |
|
Quoted: Sig is *one* incident away from a UD/ND with a 320 on a school campus with an SRO where a kid gets hit, at which point this goes from bad for sig to a firestorm. Quoted: |
