Quoted: It's got the pre "voluntary upgrade" trigger @drobs Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Buddy of mine messaged me yesterday, wanting to know if I would buy his Sig P320 Tacops with holster, 4 x 21rd mags, and 1 x 17rd mag for $600. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/41568/Sig_P320-3487540.jpg I responded back and asked will it fire while holstered? I don't have anyone I hate that much to recommend this gun to. That gun unironically will fire if dropped Well it’s a 320, so.. It's got the pre "voluntary upgrade" trigger @drobs The Siggers say that’s impossible. Sig fixed that 7 years ago. There’s none of those gun anymore. |

Quoted: Detonation from a reload, I think was the original story. P320s have a rare issue with their barrels firing out of battery and blowing up, though. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: ![]() It's a joke man. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/17974/1000023738_jpg-3488332.JPG What's the story behind that gun? Detonation from a reload, I think was the original story. P320s have a rare issue with their barrels firing out of battery and blowing up, though. I give SIG little benefit of the doubt- but without backstory that could just be a double charged reload, or other related issue. So while I crucify them mercilessly on their half assed DangerBoy pistol and Double-Down Denial lame-fest, this one I'm not going to reference until I get a bit more background. |

Such things are the reason I only recommend the Chiappa Rhino in 9mm or .40 S&W. You have to work pretty hard to blow up a 9x19mm. Heavy bullet, extra hot load, maybe some setback. |

Steyr was the worse to deal with at first, they didn’t believe that their product had failed and called me a liar on the phone and refused to repair the firearm. I sent pictures via their web form and they called me back within 5 minutes and their change in tone was startling. The Galil took the longest. I think it was near to a year for them to repair it. Any brand can blow up. |

The reproducibilty issue is interesting. Surely a credentialed, thorough, unbiased and court admissable report that documents "uncommanded fire" under lab conditions would be chum in the water to literally every personal injury lawyer on planet earth, and might cause an Extraterrestrial life disclosure as the ET litigators swarmed in. Not to mention the yuge advantage that would accrue to all service pistol manufacturers... This has been going on long enough for someone(several someones) to do the math and budget a thorough test in anticipation of billions. Sig doesn't have a corner on ethically challenged behavior...although they set an enviable standard to aspire to. |

This has been going on long enough for someone(several someones) to do the math and budget a thorough test in anticipation of billions. Sig doesn't have a corner on ethically challenged behavior...although they set an enviable standard to aspire to. Uhhh, there's an entire lawfirm now with their own page dedicated to targeting Sig for the 320 issues thanks to their wins in court against Sig. https://www.smbb.com/practice/defective-gun-misfires-attorneys/ Plus others now... https://www.kherkhergarcia.com/sig-sauer-wrongful-death-lawsuits/ https://www.schmidtlaw.com/sig-sauer-p320-lawsuit/ As for a blown-up 320, as others have said, any platform can kaboom with the right(wrong) ammo. A blown up 320 doesn't tell much. Most likely it's ammo related, with an outside possibility of an OOB due to a defect, but determining that without extensive photos and other loaded rounds to examine is nigh impossible online As for photo proof of an HK blown apart, this was pretty easy to find in ten seconds: ![]() The difference is that HK, Glock, Ruger, S&W, Kel-Tec, etc don't have an entire industry of civil litigation lawyers queuing up to bring cases to trial against them. There's a reason for that. |

The whistleblower's qualifications seem rather extensive. So extensive, there could only be a handful of such folks walking the planet. |

Quoted: The whistleblower's qualifications seem rather extensive. So extensive, there could only be a handful of such folks walking the planet. Yea. If real (and it might be), there's no way in Hell that SIG and everyone else close involved doesn't know exactly who that is. |

Quoted: Cliff notes? The whistleblower alleges Sig’s fix for the drop safety/unintentional discharge issue didn’t actually fix the problem and he has still been able to replicate uncommanded discharges with blows to the rear of the slide, post “voluntary upgrade” fix. The entirety of the whistleblower report seems to be more directed at calling out ICE leadership over favoritism. That said, it doesn’t really address how guns are firing when they aren’t being impacted by anything, even though he does cite some of those as examples. The guy doing the video does seem to jump around and skip pages of the report, so it’s possible he didn’t cover or missed something. The author also seemed to get a few technical details wrong about the operation of the FCU/striker assembly. All in all, doesn’t seem like anything new, outside of the claim that some guns can still go bang when dropped, which really doesn’t explain most of the “uncommanded discharges” videos/reports/incidents we’re seeing anyway. |

It happens more to some than others. |

Quoted: Quoted: Well I guess they were right something DID end Friday ![]() yeah, looks like they were expecting this one and got in defense mode first.. I want an X5 Legion really bad. Planned on this month. Don't feel bad. I've looked right at a brand new Flux at 2 different gun stores and a gun show in the last 2 months and just couldn't do it, in spite of spending nearly double on guns and accessories in that time frame. I'll probably just end up with an SP5. |
