The other explanation is that there are a surprisingly number of intelligent and skeptical people on this board, who are not overly gullible and are tired of hearing the same 'ol bullshit.

Ummm...the landing site as in the Sea of Tranquility?  Because you don't need a telescope for that.  Or the landing site as in the base of the LEM?  Because that's as impossible with a ground based telescope as seeing the flag.
