Well, I sent an email to [email protected] and asked them to clarify why they endorsed Romney in light of his known anti-gun stance.

Hopefully Mr Robinson will post more information explaining / justifying the endorsement about why we should all give Romney a pass on his background.

It might be a good idea for everyone to send them a short polite note asking them to explain themselves.

At least they will(may) get the point.

I'm living in California, I attend grad school, my neighborhood is chock full of rainbow clad queers, libs, and other assorted degenerates.   If I boycotted all those who didn't share my views on firearms, I would be homeless, starving, uneducated, and straight SOL.  Even in my home state of UT, arguably the best for the RTKBA, I would bet 50% of the population of the state and 80% of SLC would be against my EBR.

We are all forced to compromise at some point.  Pick your battles.  IMO some bird-ass company in UT and what their people think about things doesn't bother me much.

I agree.  He was online and he said he would answer questions.  He was online for at least 15 minutes, but answered no questions.

The big question is this:  Why would someone who makes Assault Type Weapons support someone who wants to ban them?
The only answer I can come up with is that it i something more important to him than his business.  There are very few things in my life that are more important than putting food on the table for my family.  My belief in Jesus is one of them.   I know that, but I will be honest with myself and others of my motives.
That seems to be the issue here.

Shane333, I share this same logic with usma89 here. I won't reiterate what he said but hopefully you at least see where I'm coming from. I've got nothing against mormons and my issue with Romney is far from anything to do with religion. It has to do with his policies. Frankly, an AR ban is an instant no for me.

Now, Mitt could have had a 'change of heart' or a 'Saul on the road to Damascus' moment.  A person can always change.

Then again, Mitt could be triangluating what he needs to get the nomination by pandering to enough people so that they will forget/overlook what he has done up to the point where he announced his intention to run for President.

Gee, maybe Alan Keyes is right when he tells us to be worried when a man has such a 'sudden change of heart' vis-a-vie Abortion and RKBA.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, and I haven't read the thread past the first page.

The LDS (Mormon) Church comes out every election cycle and stresses that it does not support, endorse, or give any favor to any candidate or any party.

They simply advise members of their church to essentially 'vote your conscience', or who you think is best suited for the job.

Just to keep some perspective.

That said, the religion issue is most likely the reason they're supporting him, along with a billion other people here in Utah.  Right or wrong, that's the way it is.

For the record I'm extremely disgusted with Romney's attitude towards gun rights.  However, as I pointed out before, Romney made an extremely good impression of himself when he effectively saved the Olympics in Utah.  He is liked by many for more reasons than his religious affiliation.

From the man himself:

"Mitt Romney is a strong supported of the Second Amendment.  I’ve worked on his campaign and find him to be exactly what he purports to be – a true American with the same values you and I hold dear.   He’s running because he knows he can make a big difference.    I’ve ask him to put his views on the Second Amendment in writing.   They’re attached here.  I haven’t seen a stronger written statement from any of the candidates.

Let’s stop worrying and start supporting the man who can and will make a difference.  The sooner we all support Romney, the easier it will be to get him into the White House and the more secure our nation will be.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.  (Oh, and keep buying our products so I can continue to help campaign.)"

That's why the word should get out. His statements about Romney's stance on the 2nd are just plain wrong and he's asking his customers to keep buying his goods so he can support a candidate that has and will support an AWB.
