I have met Alex a couple of times at gun shows, as well as spoken to him on the phone a few years ago, not to impressed either time. That being said i have owned 6 of the M96 rifles wich were of good quality and one of the first XCRs to be had, it was a total POS, i was about to try another after constant conversation with one of his biggest dealers. At this time i cannot support anyone who for any reason would back a canidate who would deny me the right to keep and bare arms, to protect myself and my family, and for use against tyrany. Tomarrow i will go buy a Sig 556 instead, maybey 2. At least that will be 2500.00 that will NOT go to fund a campain against my RKBA.
Alex deserves to be done in the firearms buisiness

I live outside the third largest Jewish metropolitan area in the World, Philadelphia, PA.

You should have heard all the "He's one of us!", and "We've made it!" describing Joe Lieberman back in 2000.  Oy, Vey!!

Of course, you would have heard the same thing in 1960 among the Catholic neighborhoods, ESPECIALLY the Irish ones.

People tend to group think and do identity politics.  Sad, but true.

Romney is a puke, in the video he uses the term "Crazies" well what is his definition of crazy? What is his defenition of "lethality"? OH it will be left to the interpretation of our elected officials. Romney said he would have signed the sun setted 94 weapons ban in 2004 if he were president. This would have included veterans with PTSD which by the way they are still working on.

Maybe so, maybe not. I don't care.

Either way, for him to endorse a candidate who has so clearly stated he would ban his products goes a long way to perpetuate that stereotype, no matter if it is wrong or right.

In public relations, perception=reality.

Alex just stepped in big sloppy pile of shit with his customer base no matter what the reason, and the perception people are drawing from it doesn't help the perception of Mormons in the gun-politics world either, rightly or wrongly.

So no matter Alex's motivations, you're going to judge Mormons?

No, as much as you try to play your victim card and get the thread locked.  Right now I'm not happy with two people who just happen to be Mormon.   One is trying to lead the country and wants to ban semi-auto rifles.  The other is a gun manufacturer that wants me to support the first guy for some reason.

Spare me, "Dude".  Do you think I'm happy with Romney?  Do you suppose that I support any given political candidate based on his/her religion?  Do you think I support Harry Reid of Nevada just because he's LDS?  Of course not.  I don't base my support of them based on their supposed religious affiliation at all.  I'm just tired of the fact that Romney can't be discussed without his religious affiliation being dragged into the discussion.  He doesn't represent my beliefs anymore than Reid does.

So you can spare the "victim" accusation.  For the first 9 or ten pages of this thread at least two people per page were dragging religion into it.  I wasn't the one doing that.

So far Alex hasn't said he chose Romney for any religious reasons, so it's nothing but speculation to make the accusation.  Maybe it's true, maybe not.  Why not wait for him to answer that?  If it is true than my dissappointment will be as great as anyone else's.

I suppose every person and entity you engage in commerce with endorses your exact political views including your fondness of "assault rifles" (?)
If so, please tell me how you survive.  I watch movies (anti-gun hollywood), I go to the post office and other .gov places (anti-gun Federal Gov), I go to a university (gun-free zone), I buy coffee from one of those places (anti-everything), I work in the same office as a guy who abhors guns,  I shop on Ebay, I use paypal, I have members of my family and close friends who don't like guns, ETC.

Might I be so bold as to suggest that before you impugn someone else's integrity you use your brain for one goddamn minute.  If you fucksticks had read my post I never suggested you soften your position on whatever, I just OBSERVED the fact that each day we are forced to deal with people who may or may not think the same as we do.  Unless you "go off the grid" this is just a fact of life.

Never Compromise

Our Founding Father's didn't, did they?

Perhaps you are not steeped in American History my friend, but if you know anything about the Constitution's development you wouldn't have put a "?" at the end of the above ignorance.  It was a product of compromise.   Not to mention the fact that our FF solicited help from the fucking French (#2 imperialist) to help defeat the British (#1) in a dog and pony show sometimes revered to as the Revolutionary War.  Comprise? Were you sick that day in 5th grade or were you in the little room finger painting with a "teacher" who kept you from drooling on yourself?

I dont think its hostility towards mormans but more of a bandwagon mentality here and on other boards. A couple people say basically the same thing and its seen as popular so a couple more say the same. Nothing illustrates this better than the catch phrases that pop up here all the time.

This is why they dont tolerate muslim bashing threads and similar topics.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it as an "anti Mormon" rantings going on, but that some groups tend to favor/support those of their own group.  Think about it, Aggies will tend to support their own, Baptist tend to support their own, hell, gun owners do the same damn thing.  I honestly think there is a monetary reason for the support, as in, the gov't contract angle.  Then again, maybe Alex has a desire to support a fellow Mormon.  Don't think that means the Mormons are taking over the world.

Based upon this thread, however, I don't see this going well.  I figure Alex will first make a qualifying statement regarding "why" he supports Romney.  Then, when the pressure heats up, he will "further evaluate" and decide that he was "wrong".  Needless to say, those in arfcom will have NO problem burning that bridge.  Unless of course it drives the price of XCR's down....

Back to my point, I don't think most of the Mormon comments are meant to disparage Mormons in general.

Ok First off stop the Mormon bashing.  Whether that is a factor or not it is irrelevant to this conversation.  And before you get high and mighty some Catholics voted for Kennedy because he was Catholic.  Some protestants voted against him because he was Catholic. Some jews voted for Lieberman etc etc.  That dynamic will always be present in any election.

Midget reference your rant---
1)Did the founding fathers compromise on some issues?  Yes (the largest being slavery.).  Did the compromise on core issues? No.  That is why we have the pesky thing called a Bill of Rights.  As far as allying with the French so what?  It made an otherwise unobtainable goal obtainable.
2. Unfortunatley, we all deal with anti-gun companies/entities.  However, I don't if I can avoid it.  Hence I don't use Ebay, pay pal etc.  I don't shop or frequent businesses that don't allow Concealed Carry --- even if it means I drive an extra few miles to avoid them.  Check Alex's thread for a list of gun companies that get the same treatment from me.  Sorry, there is a difference between have to and it is convenient.  You obviously have trouble understanding that, unless there is only one coffee place where you live and it is illegal to brew your own.
3.  Don't insult peoples education until your spelling/grammer improves---and before you knock mine --- I am not the one throwing a tirade and making comments about the 5th grade.
4) yes, i deal with anti gun people.  if possible and apropriate, I attempt to educate them.  If that doesn't work and I do not HAVE to deal with them (examples work etc) I don't.
5) Do yourself a favor and read the CoC--you attend college you should be able to understand it.
