Lol at the guys who think a stuck case is an ak thing. I don't think I've ever read on here anybody that knew what they were talking about stating that ak's never jam. As an ak guy, just goes to show how nice a bolt hold open could be. If he could have locked the bolt back he might not have had pull the bolt out. Kinda stupid the rod isn't 1.5" longer though. |

The last cleaned weapons in my unit was the M4. Our battalion was doing its own "surge" in our sector. We were being ready to hand off the sector to an incoming National Guard unit. So we were getting our asses kicked on 18-20 hour patrols a night, 7 days a week. After doing all that weapons clearing bullshit you had to do at the clearing barrels and returning the gun trucks to the CP area. We had to get our shit out of the trucks and do some other bullshit. By the time you are done, you might be lucky to get 4 hrs of sleep before the next patrol. So we never had time to do a good cleaning on our rifles. During the 2 week long surge, we did get into a quick two-way range with some insurgents shit bags. 5 guys in seperate positions were involved and all 5 guys with their beat up and not clean M4s, managed to not have a single jam. Despite have the upper/lower reciever, quad rail and everything with a coat of dust on them. You had time to clean your guns, you were just lazy.

I had this happen to me in Afghanistan with my M4, sucked but got it figured out pretty quick.
Also had this happen to me in combat in Iraq fighting with the kurds against the same dudes these guys are shooting at. That was with an AK 47. Overall it is a super shitty thing to have happen to you in a fight, but if you kinda know what the fuck you are doing with guns overall you can fix it pretty quick. Really helps if your bros are covering for you while you play with the guts of your gun. Now, the G36 wandering zero thing sucked pretty hard and there was no fix..

What exactly do you think an AK was designed to use? What type of casing so you think the Russian Army uses? doesnt mean it is not more prone to failure in every gun compared to brass. Also it could have been locally remanufactured ammo. |

Storytime: I was at an indoor range regretting my decision to shoot there, and there was some sort of "tactical pistol class" being taught. The instructor was this fat old bald child molester looking guy, wearing starched 5.11 top and bottoms (10.22s lol) and some super bulky dirty old soft armor that looked like it was from the late 1980s. His secondary instructor looked like a 17 year old version of Kip from Napoleaon Dynamite. He was standing at parade rest with a full dropleg holster down to his knee, and also dressed similarly. Well besides his soft armor, which looked like the shell of the blue kind that reporters wear when they go to combat zones. Anyways, he's over there yelling at these poor saps that spent money to learn from him, "DON'T YOU EVER BEND DOWN AND PICK UP A MAGAZINE! IN FALLUJAH, THE MARINES BENT DOWN TO PICK UP MAGAZINES BECAUSE THEY DID IT IN TRAINING AND INSURGENTS WALKED RIGHT UP TO THEM AND SHOT THEM IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD!"
