1972 Mercury Comet GT, 302 with 4-speed Toploader that I installed.  Make this one white with a red interior and you've got my first car.  If I ever win the lottery, I'll probably have another one.

1993 Ranger. I miss that truck.

ETA: Not my pic, but identical. Even the pin stripe and rims.

1963 Austin Healey Sprite (with an MG-B engine).

Paid a thousand dollars, used, for it in 1964.
My first car. Perhaps, the worst purchase I've
ever made.
I'll admit that it ended my interest in cars.
So, in the long run, it probably saved me a lot
of money.

Whatta-piece-of-crap.

British cars do have a way of separating car guys from non-car guys.
My 3rd car was on old Triumph Spitfire, that car taught me a lot.

This. I'd LOVE that car.

Why, do you know a good mechanic?

The trick to driving British cars is that it can't be your only ride!  You must always have a back-up for the times that the fun loving Brit just refuses to run.

1959 MG-A (black, like the one in this pic) was actually my third car and first (of six) British vehicle.  Paid $200 for it in 1969 and kept it for about three years.   Wire wheels, SU carbs and 6volt positive ground Lucas electronics . . . what could go wrong?

Mine didn't look as nice but was a beast none the less.

I wish I could find another one that is nice.

My first car was a 1989 Ford Probe, which my mom bought new in 1989, my twin also got a Ford probe, his was a white 1990, which he promptly crashed, when he crashed his second car in as many months I sold it to him for 800 bucks (he killed it too, about 6 months later, apparently he didn't know cars needed coolant.) and put that money towards a 1985 Porsche 944 (early, square dash) and then I got deep in the Porsche rabbit hole with a few 944 turbos and a 911, God, I miss all those cars, even the Probe.

1990 regular cab short bed 4cyl auto Chevy S10. Drove it for about a year until my old man upgraded and gave me his 1995 extended cab Ranger with the 3.0 6cyl and 5 speed manual. Loved that Ranger. Still see both of the trucks around town. That ranger was a friggin tank. Its gotta be pushing well into the range of 300k miles by now.

This is a very accurate representation of my first car. My '71 Riviera had an added feature of being rusted out at the top of the windshield so you got a nice all-season breeze on the top of your head! It was an Ohio winter beater that I ended up driving for about two years.

1986 Celica, bought in 1998 the week I got my license.  Those flip up headlights were panty droppers.  I eventually lost 5th gear so I couldn't ride on the highway.  Then reverse went so I had to find pull through parking spots...sort of a bitch when you work at Best Buy during Christmas season.

EDIT: ^not mine, just looked exactly like that.

Yea some of us were lucky. I am probably lucky to be alive. My first car was a brand new 1988 Mustang GT and I was 15.
