I thought , wtf is that for. An older guy who was looking at 1911s thought that would be a good gun for a younger shooter because you change the pull length with that stock on it. I thought ok what ever. But after thinking about it, maybe he has a point. |

The footbag/football/etc. isn't really a bad idea. Despite the silly appendation of "tactical" to it, it gives you a lightweight object to carry that beats throwing around some other piece of gear to keep your body loose and get your mind off things when you stop for a break.
Still, on the note of Tactical Balls... So... it's a "flashbang" that's really more of a, "Hey, we're coming through your doorway right now..." |

THE WORLD’S MOST TACTICAL BEER: TACTICAL NUCLEAR PENGUIN Tactical Nuclear Penguin was the strongest beer in the world for a short period of time last year. While it no longer holds that world record, it is by far the most tactical beverage around. And with an alcohol by volume of 32%, it still packs a pretty potent punch. The brew comes wrapped in a brown paper bag with a cute lil’ penguin doodled on the side. The bottles and beer have a black licorice color emphasizing its powerful nature. It even contains a warning label that reads: “This is an extremely strong beer, it should be enjoyed in small servings and with an air of aristocratic nonchalance. In exactly the same manner that you would enjoy a fine whisky, a Frank Zappa album or a visit from a friendly yet anxious ghost.” Tactical Nuclear Penguin is extremely potent, and it is also extremely pricey. It costs $68 for an 11.2 ounce bottle including shipping and exchange rates. Obviously this is a drink that’s meant to be cherished — not sloshed into a beer bong. |

From the website: "Additionally, the back of the [Strike Industries] carrier has an arm strap so the plate can be worn like a small shield. Wearing the Strike Industries plate carrier as a shield can have some tactical benefits..." http://i45.tinypic.com/2u6zrs7.jpg Does anyone remember the thread about the mall ninja who wanted to use his kevlar-clad body as a shield to protect his partner? Good ole Gecko45. |

Grip-pod. WTF I've tried hard to love my grip-pod, but its just too damn ugly. It's what a bipod would be if it was shaped like a grip and sucked to hold onto. |

And teh pistol bayonet is great fun, it actually fits the walther G22 perfectly, looks like factory original, and can be used to great ammusement during a steel challenge round. If you need to hit the final plate and it would be faster than a reload. Though I did get a DQ for leaving the box. |

The quirky products don't crack me up half as much as looking through the tactical gear section picture threads. Nothing says "useless" like a pale fat body taking a picture in the bathroom mirror while wearing more shit than a deployed infantryman.

Grip-pod. WTF The all-metal ones that are no longer made were quite nice. I had one on my 249 (which I went on patrol with every day.. sometimes 3x a day). My 249 came with the new style bipod which was crap. I forget if the good ones were the square leg or the round legs, it has been a while; mine had the crappy one where one leg was always snagging on something and poking out. Getting rid of the stock bipod was a huge improvement. I tried the normal grip pod, but it was not tough enough for a SAW and I broke 2 (one in the first day). I can however see how a grip pod (metal or not) would be a tad awkward on a light weight carbine like the M4. For a light machine gun, they (the metal ones) are perfect. I had zero issues firing thousands of rounds with it in bipod mode and it made shoulder firing and carrying very comfortable. |

Grip-pod. WTF It's functional. A bigger WTF is how on earth did you choose that over something like the device that attaches your Glock under an MP5 or AR15? |
