Personally, I've had a REIN switch go bad, but it was quickly replaced by Cloud. Surprised to hear about issues with Modbutton Lites. I probably have a dozen of them and haven't had any problems. It could be the SF plug style though because all but one of them are Gas Cap or laser plugs. |

| I got a Modlight and Cloud handhelds. Haven’t had any issues with the Modlight. Just too bright for an everyday light though. It is a good self defense light though. The cloud had an issue with the tail cap when I got it. They sent a new one and it worked. But it was still frustrating to spend a lot of money on an USA made light for it not to work. |

| Surefire Turbo. As a former Modlite fan, I will nog spend another penny with them. A single brief experience with Cloud guaranteed me I won’t spend money with them again either. Currently own 3 Surefire Turbos, which have been my go to the last 18 months or so, I kept two Modlites, but won’t be adding anymore. Considered selling them to add more Turbos though. I’ve hated on Surefire for a long time for being so lackluster in development. The Turbo was a significant improvement though, and seems to be high quality. I treat my shit like red head stepchildren lol |

I've got a SF 600DF that has issues with dimming when I use a pad. Took the pad tailcap off and went back to the clicky tailcap and all is good. I also have a SF Mini Scout with a pad and that's worked fine from day one. I have an old SF 6P with a Malkoff upgrade on an AK and a couple SF G2X Tactical (single output) lights on QD mounts for AR GI standard handguards. Other than the mentioned dimming issue with the 600, Surefire lights have always worked perfectly. The Olight Odin works fine with their pad. I'm pretty much a poster boy for an old LSHD kinda guy but the two Surefire Scout lights are on what I'd call my 'serious' guns and the rest are on guns that are pretty much a range toys. |

I have a Rein 3.0, tested it off the porch and seems to work fine I previously had an Olight (forget the model but it was their equivalent of Rein/M600/etc) and it was the brightest I've owned and had an awesome beam pattern. Sold it because everyone said the Rein was the way to go, i might get another Olight since they're not expensive and i was impressed with the light output |

That came in and sure as shit, the same issue. Contacted modlite again and they had me send it in. They determined it was a bad light head and sent me the new version with the rubber insert. Got it back - its like they didn't test anything - same damn issue. Sent it BACK to them - they determined a bad head again... and sent me a replacement. When I got the replacement, they sent a damn Multi-Mode Head. At this point, i decided I was done with these incompetent idiots and just sold it all off. Now onto Cloud Defense. Literally just ordered a RAIN Micro (of course i missed the 20% off sale by like 2 days - however just my luck) and the thing came in and I shit you not - issues with this as well. The damin tailcap dosent sit flush, a big ass gap. I guess its just not meant to be with me and a light on this AR - but I'm about done. I’ve had two surefire UE tail caps that would turn the light on when chambering a round, even when I disconnected the switch itself. No problems with clicky tail caps and no wire management to worry about so I just stick with those now. The scout lights have been perfect other than that. I’ve also had battery drain on a Surefire 870 forend (the newer uncomfortable type, DSF I think?). They were good about replacing it. The older ones have all been great. Very few problems with Streamlights. My various TLR-1s and 7s have all been trouble free and my Protac handheld is the best $40 I ever spent. I can’t say I liked their shotguns forend at all though. I’ve had two Malkoff heads and they were perfect. |

That's been my issue as well. I can't remember if it was the GooBeRS or someone else who said they don't like pressure pads because it's easier to accidentally turn them on. I bought my first Cloud Defensive MCH Duty about a year and half ago. I purchased it directly from them. Great light. Worked 100% with flat tops and button heads. The light was great. Everything fit nice. A few months ago Bereli had them on sale. I bought a black one and two moonshines. All the lights had clips that were loose. They only had one of the two o-rings that retains the clip. The lights came with extra o-rings. None of the extra o-rings were the same size. The o-ring was too thick and squeezed out. The o-rings were not the same size as the ones used on the original light I purchased. I purchased a few sizes of o-rings from Amazon and came up with ones that did not squeeze out. The black one works 100% with flat tops and button heads. The two moonshines will not work with button heads. If I swap the switch out from one of the non-moonshines the moonshine will work fine. I contacted Cloud. They told me the switches were defective and sent me two new switches. I had the exact same problem with the new switches. They gave me some BS about changing their switch specs around. I asked if I sent them the two lights could their tech dept come up with something that worked. They sent me an RMA. I sent them the lights, the spare switches, and the buttonhead batteries I use. I emailed them a month later to find out the status. All I got was an email with return shipping. I got them back and I do not think they even opened the package. They still do not work with buttonheads. I had to do some chasing to get them to respond to my emails. The lights that work are good lights but I am not really all that impressed with Cloud to tell you the truth. |
| Between TLR1s on pistols and HLX weapon light kits on rifles, I have probably 500 Streamlight lights issued out to folks in my agency, and have had very few issues. TLR1s have a known issue of the battery cap breaking, and Streamlight replaces probably 15-20 per year for us, no questions asked. I’ve not sent any HLXs back for any reason. They are great rifle lights for the money, and I like them better than the Surefire scout lights that I have access to. |
