Speeds/feeds/tooling
What speed What feed rate Any special coating on the tool bit (I will assume carbide) |
|
I like milled glocks but thats nearly the worst thing I have ever seen.
|
|
|
Why don't you just go ahead and add the Coup d' etat and cut the fucking trigger guard off?

Another perfectly fine Glock, fucked up by a wanna be gunsmith. If you don't like it fine...but no need to post insults sir. Just like grade school, make fun of things you can't have/ do. BURN as to your earlier ? Carbide is the only thing I remember have to look at the program to see what the feed/speed was. |

Tried a little slide milling. http://i.imgur.com/5reJl3sl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kUB5JhPl.jpg Here it's on the gun, trying to decide whether to polish or finish to match the gun. http://i.imgur.com/uPMREIgl.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/QIR6P8Nl.jpg View Quote R.I.P. Glock... |

I personally think its pretty fucking hideous. But if you like it who gives a fuck what I or anyone else thinks.

You'll find those "ports" cut in the slide make it a little more ergonomic for press checks/etc.
What will the refinish color be? A total slide painting in Sniper Grey would look really good on your pistol. |

This reminds me of a gay instagram feed. Do you pose in marpat trousers you don't rate everywhere you go?

Why in the name of 10 dead cats would you do something like that?!

I would love to see the guy behind the counter when you return it for warranty work.
Would make an interesting "hidden camera" episode. |

Jesus dude. The mill work looks good but why? And holy shit the soldering iron.
|
|
That is sincerely the worst stippling job I have ever seen. You butchered it, dude.
|

The cuts themselves are fine. The additional milling doesn't really flow correctly with the lines of the gun, particularly on the left side. I would either keep the slide one color, or do some additional milling, probably with the rear serrations, to make things a little more uniform. As it currently stands, from back to front it goes: vertical serrations, huge negative space, the number "forty", and then BOOM - shiny angled surface milling, and a bunch of angled cuts.

I vote refinish the whole slide in a different color. Women's Bathroom Pink. How do you know what color that is? Oh wait nevermind....... Well, I've done janitorial work in the past. Women's bathrooms are a horrifying place. |

I think it looks terrific and it's going to run fine with the optic mounted on the slide.
To all of you detractors; it's not as of he defaced the damn Mona Lisa. |

OP's next post will be
"Aks a gyu wohs hmoe millde 4.0 clabier Glock taht jstu kabomoed in hsi hnad ayntihing" |

Post the finished pics, when the gun is wearing its little red dot and the compensator is attached.

I don't understand all the "solder iron" hate, Glock isn't no beauty queen to start with. Besides I have seen a hell of a lot worse.
I would make the slide one color if it were mine. |

It's a Open class gun, the other recess in the back is for a Burris FFlll Doesn't affect reliability (springs will correct it ) does affect muzzle flip, does not compromise integerity Cough*open division*cough Yeah, I reverted back to my racing days Easy to pick out the non-shooters. For the reliability questions AGAIN it runs 100%, it has springs changed, giude rod as well As for the stippling, we shoot in ALL KINDS of weather, rain/mud, heat/humidity, snow/freezing. I'm not HSLD enough to wear tac gloves like the operators that operate here. |

Just the pattern the CNC mill ran, visible but it's smooth as silk View Quote Yea, but it forces you to polish the entire machined region, or at minimum give it a good bead blast to remove the tool marks. Never mind, I see it's a race gun. Ugly it up all it needs to do what it needs to do. How much weight did you remove? |

If anything, I see it as a safety measure.
When the gun wants to kaboom, there are more openings to dissipate the force. |
