That's no mean feat. Jessica has no talent at all. |

Are you sure the band was really playing or was that taped too? I can't really tell one way or the other. I just watched the video again and boy did that bitch look dejected when she walked off the stage. |
If you treat your band like shit, they will make you look like a joke.
I know it wasn't their fault, but I loved that they just kept on playing. Maybe now she'll stick to destroying WB shows like she was before she decided to make our ears bleed. |
Sounds like they were playing live - you can see them fumbling around trying to get on beat and in sync with each other after they realize the vocal track for the wrong song was playing. |
You mean the EX-sound director???? |
Geez! That hurts just to look at! You're right. The band deserves kudos for sticking with it. Oh, and she deserved this just for that stupid dance she was trying to do. |
I wonder if they'll ever find his body? That IS New York, you know.... |
Local news just reported that Ashley's dad stated that she has acid reflux and therefore couldn't sing live that evening. SNL is stating that they recorded her earlier performance and that track accidentally got played.
It would be nice if the two parties would get their stuff in sync. |
Then why didn't she just say that to begin with instead of blaming it on the band? I don't doubt you personally MarianLibrarian, but I call |

"Everyone makes mistakes"... Yup, just look at Milli Vanilli. Their career bombed, they had to give back the Grammy, and one of the members ended up killing himself. Maybe she should have given this whole lip-syncing thing some thought. |
What a tool. At least her sister is good looking enough to resort to porn. This is so classic.
In her own words: From Lucky Magazine interview: LM: What are your takes on lip-synching? AS: I'm totally against it and offended by it. I'm going out to let my real talent show, not to just stand there and dance around. Personally, I'd never lip-synch. It's just not me. |
Tool.
Dumb Bitch. Hey someone needs to move in for the kill!!!! you know what im talking about!! cmon!!! someone must, infiltrate, make good friends, and then stuff it in her pooper and post pics!!!! whose up for the task????????? |
Please stop all the insensitive remarks.
10/24/2004 7:32:18 PM - by Ashlee Simpson I lip-sync, so sue me. You have no idea what it's like having millions of dollars being spent trying to make you a star You're kidding, right? I mean, the linked site is a joke, right? I mean, she couldn't actually be stupid enough to A) Do that dumb jiggy-dance when at a loss, B) Offer that lame "my band made a mistake" excuse AND C) Actually type that idiotic post!??!?! W T F ? Sheesh, I should have such terrible problems....Anybody want to spend millions to make me a "star"? |
That post was spoofed; it wasn't really her. But it amused me.
read a little farther down, there is some really stupid girl that passed out here phone number and email address. Wow, that's classic!!!! |

From sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/10/25/entertainment1641EDT0665.DTL:
Ashlee Simpson's dad blames acid reflux disease for `Saturday Night Live' gaffe DAVID BAUDER, AP Television Writer Monday, October 25, 2004 If Ashlee Simpson's stomach was upset Saturday night, imagine how she's feeling now. Busted for a "Saturday Night Live" lip-synch gone awry, her manager-father said Monday his 19-year-old daughter used the extra help because acid reflux disease had made her voice hoarse. -- BAAAAHAhahahahahaahahaha! |
I thought you have to eat food to get acid reflux. |
She is just the latest bubblegum girl to come out of the corporate music machine. It is no different than it was 20 years ago. It is all about marketing, and has little to do with musical ability.
Ashlee does have talent. The question is, can she |

If any of this is a surprise to anyone, I'd be shocked.
In the world of pop stars, image and dancing ALWAYS plays a bigger role than the actual singing performance, and it is extremely common for acts to lip-synch. Over and over, POP audiences (notice I said POP, not Rock) have been shown to prefer the studio version of the recording over an actual live performance, and very often the dancing routines required by the performers prevents them from singing live. You don't really think that the Backstreet Boys or NSYNC or Britney could do all those dance moves and still sing, right? Madonna was lip-synching performances long before Milli Vanilli. And long before that, there were hundreds of TV appearances, from the Tonight Show to Solid Gold to Soul Train, where the acts would lip-synch. Even most Grammy performances are either lip-synched, or sang to a pre-recorded track. Few are actually performed live. This is POP folks. It wasn't a Rush or Pink Floyd concert. Lip-synched performances are an absolute staple Ashley is brand new to this whole thing. She would never have gotten a singing contract at this stage in her career if not for Jessica, that's for sure. She has very little experience performing herself, as all her life, it was Jessica's performances that their family focused on. People suddenly expect her to be just as good from day one, but she doesn't have anything like the experience of her older sister. Sure, he's partially to blame, for getting herself into it this fast and this deep, but, really, this was clearly a case of SOMEONE ELSE screwing up and playing the wrong song, not HER screwing up. -Troy |
Your right, I watched the video a few more times and the band was playing the RIGHT song at first until the voice track came in, then the band switched the song to match the voice track. As Macallen said, very professional indeed. |
This is really pathetic you know that. Where are these kid's role models???
Holy Shit people, I think the site staff may be one of those psycho-stalker types |
I agree that it was someone elses fault. but not the band. It was the guy\girl pushing the "play" button. unless the "play button guy" is considerd part of the band... she had no right to accuse the band for the fuck up. otherwise, i'd agree with troy. |
Ashley is whats known as a hack. A hack is someone that cant act, cant sing and cant really do anything else worthwhile in the entertainment industry and is famous solely because of a family member or friend that is famous and/or because of their good looks.
In the case of ashley simpson the only reason shes famous is because of her older sister. Cuase her looks dont do anything for me. Id hit it.......... with a mac truck. |
Gay, huh? Not that there's anything wrong with that....oh, wait a minute, what am I saying? So, how old is she? 12? 14? What? 19! Are you saying that 19 is too young? For me? Eric The(IUsuallyLike'Em2or3YearsOlderThanThat)Hun |

Seriously, the next time you see Britney performing 'live' take your eyes off of her tits and ass and look at her face. It's like she is really concentrating on counting the dance steps in her head. Also, Troy, your knowledge of the pop music industry is troubling. |
If anyone here goes to see Britney, Ashlee, or any other pop bimbos live you need to go sell all your rifles and buy some pretty pink dresses and some dolls. |
I meant on TV - it's almost unavoidable. |
I am currently making my living (if that's what you'd call it!) off of several music-related business, including concert promotion, DJing, and working on a music video TV show. And, every once in a while, some audio engineering, remixing, and/or sound reinforcement work. Knowing about ALL facets of the music business has become my JOB. -Troy |
So you aren't buying the excuse that it was a guide track then? |
I'm not in a position to really know either way, but both full vocal tracks and guide tracks are VERY common. -Troy |
Like Nancy Sinatra.
They might have been able to sell it, if that had been the story from the start and they stuck to it. |
It was just a joke... |
I know... I'm just saying... -Troy |

The capitalized "ALL" and "JOB" seemed scolding-ish. |

She may have talents in other areas-- |
