We have a creepy thread. Post up OP. https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/It-s-time-for-another-CREEPY-thread-/5-1227431/ Quoted:
Possibly the story below may answer your question? First of all, I don't know if anyone here has read the book "Strangely Enough", an old book from about 1959 dealing with paranormal encounters, it has many good tales in it. (All stories gathered from the people or their families). One story is about a woman in the midwest and a whistling. I can remember most of the story but I can't seem to find the book. Heres what I remember: The woman was home alone with her dog, and went to bed. About halfway through the night she woke up to her dog barking and a horrid whistling coming from her front porch, where the dog was barking. The whistling continued (painfully loud and high pitched) and soon she grabbed her pistol. Before she dared to go the porch, her dog stopped barking and started grunting and whimpering, then went dead silent. The whistling left the house quickly and faded off into the field. The terrified lady went back to sleep. In the morning she cautiously went to the porch, noticing her dog was not by her side. She found the dogs blood smothering and smeared all over the walls and no sign of the dog except for some fur (If I remember correctly) as if something very strong had come into the house and mutilated the dog while making a horrid unnatural whistling. This part is the odd part. I've never heard an account like this ever again until today. Im not going to post any personal information, but a friend told me about an experience after I asked him about if he had seen a ghost before. He used to live farther in the country by a huge field. Strange things had been going on in the barn and he had even been thrown against the wall by an unseen force. Later on he had been attacked while out in the field when it was turning to night. He had nothing but a hunting knife with him but was trained with a sword and fighting. He got thrown to the ground by some beast that was whistling and kept stabbing blindly as he closed his eyes. He got away and ran inside his house, with some cuts and he was covered in some sort of black and bile liquid. Later on he had to keep himself locked in the basement at night when he sleeped in fear of being attacked again but walked outside into the field every night to see if it was there, and it was. It kept whistling (like the one in the first story) and his friend and him got a glimpse of its body. It seemed to have many thorny spikes coming out of its muscular back and had unusual reddish skin with large muscles. He did not see the rest of the body but his friend said he it 'billions of teeth' (He was watching from the barn) It whistled as it ran off at amazing speed on all 4's and the whistle faded off quickly. He did that for nights carrying his sword and it whistled more. His parents didnt see it and saw what they thought was 'a bear being chased'. They moved and he only saw it once in the town alley, whistling painfully loud and high, doing some sort of song, then it left and its been gone ever since. Has anyone heard of a whistling menace that is unnaturally strong and fast? I really want to find out as much as I can about this menace, please post feedback. |

A bird or frog happens to sound like your whistle and responded. Humans try to find patterns in nature that are not there.
I lived in a city for a few years and when I returned and went hunting for the first time in years I noticed in pitch dark that I tried to turn every tree rustling in the wind to a deer, then thought maybe my hunting partner was coming through the brush towards me, but wait, he was to the south and the noise was to the north! Lol |

I wonder if we could post the whole movie, in a bajillion 3sec gifs. |

I saw a guy walking down the street with a clown wig on earlier this summer, just a local crazy guy. I laughed at the thought of how many people in gd said they draw down on someone in a clown suit

Other strange things. -Had one of the neighbors chickens find it’s way over to my yard last April. It stayed in the pines behind my house and I figured that I’d put food out and eventually catch it and give it back. No biggie. Left for work one day and I come home to find plucked feathers in different spots all over the yard. We have Redtail Hawks everywhere and they will do this, but...they don’t take it from the front yard...where the feathers start...to behind the far corner of the house (hidden) where the largest pile of feathers were. Random objects getting moved outside. (Bears do this too.) Something thumping on my front porch (outside the room where my dogs crates are) and once again-no bark. Also, it is gone every time I come out to shoot it. (Cat?) My son who is two now used to wake up crying every morning around 2:30-3:00 and where it happed so much I started sleeping lightly around that time. My wife and I would hear a loud thump and we’d just assume that he moved just in his bed and woke himself up. I’m not so sure now. A couple of weeks before the whistle.... I told my buddy’s son to bring me a big bullfrog that wasn’t speared too bad for my son to play with... I put two buckets outside and he put a survivor in one bucket and used the other bucket (with a hole in it) to seal the frog in. My son plays with the frog. I seal the frog back up with some water...and nest the other bucket down on top of him and go in for the evening. The next morning I come out to check on the frog and change water...and Pepe is gone. The buckets are still nested |

I used to live on a 1000 acres where the forested mountains meet the desert. I had no neighbors. Each night before bed I'd let the dogs out to run the perimeter and shit and piss. I'd loudly whisper "WATCH", and they'd go into mode and do their thing, each running in a separate direction. One night I was out checking out the Milky Way and from around 15' behind me in the sagebrush, something loudly whispered "WATCH". I fast walked back into the house.
One other thing that was weird that happened there. One night we laid down for bed. About 15 minutes later, something punched me in the hip from under the bed. Wife says, "Did you feel that?" Checked everything and there was no one. |

OP I recommend finding some paranormal myths and legends podcasts to listen to at night to help you sleep. Seems there was a reason this house was cheap. Third year here. It is not an old house, but it spent a few years unoccupied after the market crashed. |

wow that's bizarre.
i've had some creepy shit myself lately. unfortunately, i don't live in a real rural area (although i should) and tweakers are infesting my once nice neighborhood. just tonight i was out putting something away in my shed when i stumbled upon a figure walking around in the open desert behind my house and beyond my fence. it wasn't bright enough for me to make out what they were wearing or their features, just that it was a very tall human figure. (about 10 to 15 feet away from the fence) they were crouched down, picking something up or grabbing at something, and stood up when they heard me in the backyard. i stopped what i was doing and stood up too. i could tell we were just staring at each other, and we stood there in silence for a good few seconds before he backed away into darkness (walking backwards) until i couldn't see him anymore. you can bet i sure as shit retrieved a firearm and investigated pretty thoroughly. nothing. i can't tell where they went, and didn't really find any footprints or anything else. they didn't have a flashlight with them either which i found bizarre and creepy. mind you there is no reason someone should be back there hanging out at 10 PM. it's open desert for about a mile before eventually touching the highway. still doesn't beat my near miss with a home-invasion type situation a year ago. that one still upsets me. |
|
That's weird and creepy as fuck, I have had the exact same thing happen to me.
Years ago when I was in the Army me and an buddy from my platoon were driving around the Quantico area woods doing dumb 11B shit... actually we were drunk as fuck being driven around by my ex-wife because my drunk redneck buddy decided to try to poach a deer with his bare hands. Anyway he saw a deer that froze in our headlights for a bit then darted into the woods and the truck slowed and he gave a loud two note whistle after it. Heard the same whistle come back instantly from the woods. It clearly wasn't an echo, something whistled loudly back and it came back faster than any person could have heard the whistle and decided to mimic it. Sobered us up quick and we got the fuck out of there. |

The buckets are still nested The local Bigfoot hunters group (East TN Bigfoot, I think ) came up to a neighboring farm and found some prints. Farmer had some chickens missing out of coop and suspected bored yutes since it would be impossible for an animal to open coop , door handle with the child proof plastic sleeve to keep his young kids from opening without permission. Sure enough some HUGE prints where supposedly found near the pond about 30 yards away. I saw pics, and while I don’t really believe in that stuff, that is some weird crap that I can’t explain. Add all of this with a couple of coon hunting incidents as a teen and I don’t know what to think. |

I agree. I solo backpack every chance I get as I’m a AT section hiker. I’ve heard some weird stuff alone in the middle of nowhere. However, there have been some strange things around the property which caused me to be more...alert. I commonly “night hike” to avoid the daytime humidity. I’ve been trailed by black bears and something I’m pretty certain was a lion. I don’t really don’t scare easy, but a whistle-that’s weird. Quoted:

Probably just a nocturnal critter of some sort that coincidentally emitted its cry just after you whistled. The night woods can seem creepy until you get used to them. We whistle to our dogs and the mocking birds that nest close by have picked it up. classic three whistle call everyone does. It is Pretty funny actually. The bird will go through it's routine of mimicking other local birds and suddenly you will hear the dog whistle. If a mockingbird hears you whistle regularly to your dogs it is sure to remember it. They call all night long. One might have been out there listening for another mockingbird and returned your whistle.. I can get the Mockingbirds around here to do just that during the day. Never tried it at night. I can also get them to do bob white calls. Or get Bob whites to call to me. I've even tricked hawks and crows a few times. |

I don’t know what it is, but it certainly could be Sasquatch. There are Sasquatch in your area, and I assure you that they are real entities. It is well known by Native Americans to not whistle in the woods as this does attract the squatch. Whistles are something they use to communicate. You also have a mountain close to you, so they are probobly coming and going from it. I bet you might find some tracks, broken limbs high up, or interesting stick structures around your property.
Thermal will catch them if they are there. |
