Sounds like you have a wendigo that thinks your cute, be careful OP, anal penetration from a wendigo may sound like fun but recent studies suggest otherwise.

This part is the odd part.

I've never heard an account like this ever again until today. Im not going to post any personal information, but a friend told me about an experience after I asked him about if he had seen a ghost before. He used to live farther in the country by a huge field. Strange things had been going on in the barn and he had even been thrown against the wall by an unseen force. Later on he had been attacked while out in the field when it was turning to night. He had nothing but a hunting knife with him but was trained with a sword and fighting. He got thrown to the ground by some beast that was whistling and kept stabbing blindly as he closed his eyes. He got away and ran inside his house, with some cuts and he was covered in some sort of black and bile liquid. Later on he had to keep himself locked in the basement at night when he sleeped in fear of being attacked again but walked outside into the field every night to see if it was there, and it was. It kept whistling (like the one in the first story) and his friend and him got a glimpse of its body. It seemed to have many thorny spikes coming out of its muscular back and had unusual reddish skin with large muscles. He did not see the rest of the body but his friend said he it 'billions of teeth' (He was watching from the barn) It whistled as it ran off at amazing speed on all 4's and the whistle faded off quickly. He did that for nights carrying his sword and it whistled more. His parents didnt see it and saw what they thought was 'a bear being chased'. They moved and he only saw it once in the town alley, whistling painfully loud and high, doing some sort of song, then it left and its been gone ever since.

This isn't a super natural bigfoot, Chupacabra story but none the less. In the early 90's my dad moved us out to the "sticks" in the middle of the National Forest. He bought one acre of land and we started building a little cabin. It didn't take long for stuff to begin to happen around the property. First, building materials started disappearing, blocks, lumber, plywood ect…. Once the cabin was finished someone broke in but didn't steal anything. "They" broke into our car and cut the seats up with a razor and then finally killed one of our dogs with poison. All this happened during a span of about six months to a year. Then one weekend my parents were out of town and I was home alone. It was October and the weather/temp was nice and cool so there was no a/c running and the windows to the house were open. I had just finished watching the movie Predator and was rewinding the tape, anyone else remember doing that, when I heard someone whistling out in the woods through the window in the living room. Obviously for our dog but I never heard a voice. Now since our other dog Spanky was killed we kept Max in the house at night. I stood at the window and listened for a good 10 minutes trying to locate where the whistling was coming from. After that I went and got my H&R single shot 12ga shotgun and fired right into the direction of the whistling but a little high on purpose. I never heard the whistling again, we never had any more problems, I never told my parents what I did and every time I think about what I did I think about Joe Biden.

I don’t believe either but had what I later (10years later ) discovered to be what Bigfoot believers call “wood knocks” on 2 different occasions .

One that was the hardest to explain away we where road hunting an old logging/ mining road that was mostly washed out gravel but still a nice road due to its many years of having to support large tractor trailers and heavy equipment , the road had tons of smaller roads running off both sides of varying condition leading to different mines , log collection points , ponds , strip pits with dangerous high walls , etc.

Our version of road hunting involved a 1970 something Jeep Wagoneer in which we would let the 3-4 coon dogs out and slowly follow the dogs as they explored the immediate area along the sides of the roads , if the dogs got a scent they would begin light tracking to see if the trail was hot enough to chase . When the dogs would catch a scent and dart off into the woods or fields we would stop , cut off the truck and listen for the lead dog to sound off letting us know they had a strong scent . If the scent was too weak we would eventually see the dogs return to continue their next area and we would then start following until the next possible scent was found.

That night we where hunting one of the lower mountain strip areas that we had gotten 3 coon out of the previous season compared to double digit numbers from the higher mountains that where stripped . The stripping and mining had occurred from the 50s to 80s with different mountains showing different phases of recovery from 10-20 year old hardwood all the way down to orange slag fields with sage grass, green grass, locust and shrub fields to pine fields all in between ponds that held plenty of life from decades of recovery to nasty poisonous sludge ponds from recent digs still accumulating the chemicals used on the large cliff faces dug into the sides of huge mountains.

The night started as any other with my dad , cousin, and a hunting buddy of my dads age I will  call Doug to make it easer to follow . We started about 8pm a cold January night in the mid 1990’s me and my cousin where around 14-15 years old .
The dogs did their thing alerting on a few trails in which we would stop only to have them return shortly(under 5minutes).

We get halfway around the mountain and they dart off to the right of the road which leads on down the mountain fingers into a lower valley , while to the left the mountain would continue to climb to the point/crest which would take several hours of hiking if we wanted to climb to the top. The way the dogs went would be great if they hit on a hot trail due to the area being mostly fields and mature hardwoods with numerous logging trails the Jeep could go down making us hope for an easy hunt where we could drive close to the treed dogs. To the left  up the mountain  instead had a  locust grove that had to be gotten through which was never an easy option and was avoided usually at all cost which included hiking around adding miles to the climb due to the large spines ALL OVER the locust tree . As we have the Jeep turned off and are sitting there for maybe 5 minutes we start to open the car doors to get out and listen for a possible opening bark , at that exact moment as the interior light turns on as the doors are clicked we hear a loud what best can be described as a blow/ whoop only it sounds like a human blowing an cheerleader cones but real rough/growls. We click the doors back shut  to get the interior light to go back off so we can get our hunting spotlights on to look that direction I said something like “what the heck, some other hunters messing with us” to which the only one to reply was Doug who said “ we haven’t seen any vehicles , Barry( the other coon hunters that frequent the area)  is wanting his ass kicked” . See Doug liked to get a little buzz before hunting which is why my dad always drove while the “kids” me and my cousin sat in back and controlled the dogs releasing them and retrieving them into the truck when needed.

SIDE NOTE:
At the beginning I said 3-4 coon dogs because the 4th dog was my personal dog a “broken tail mountain cur”that was from middle TN stock that was primarily bred for hog hunting but I had tried to make a coon dog out of with the only success being she would tree when the hounds did , she wouldn’t trail due to the hounds being so much better that she couldn’t keep up or contribute . What she did outdo the hounds on was killing the coons that decided to fight after being shot out of the tree she was not afraid of anything , even finishing off a bob cat that had come out of a den tree on us , we got off one shot with the .22 lever action we always had before the dogs got to it, luckily the shot hurt it enough that it wasn’t able to hurt the dogs with the cur doing most of the killing while the hounds mostly barked moral support due to surprise..... SIDE NOTE

Sorry back to the best described as a  “whoop” we heard. Well we shined our lights out the left yelling “HEY” thinking it was the other hunters . Only to get nothing back  and seeing nothing which weirded us out as hunters won’t mess around much more than that from fear of getting shot by a trigger happy or buzzing fellow hunter.  Then we heard another “whoop” which pissed doug off with his buzzed state of mind but just as he went to open the door cussing under his breath the cur in the back area behind the seats began to whine like she was nervous followed by a half hearted growl which hit me with a sense of sheer terror all at once as I had never seen or heard my cur do this in all our previous years of hunting through rough coon fights, bobcats , drunks wanting to fight etc.  and by seeing what I could of the other 3 occupants faces/ reactions as we looked around at each other they felt exactly the same from my sober dad down to us “kids” . I replied “oh god”at the same time in  which whatever it was seemed to get more agitated as we heard what sounded like one large locust post knocking against a tree 3 times and then it stopped . All  the while the cur was becoming more and more distraught in the back pacing and whining , I reached back over the seat grabbing her collar to calm her and honestly to calm myself. My cousin said “ we need to leave fast” to which my we all said “our dogs” and almost at that same time it knocked again and whooped to left , simultaneously all three coon hounds jumped through the right side windows one into the passenger front onto Doug , the other two right onto me and my cousin in the back on the bench seat. We all yelled in fear as we didn’t know the dogs where near and they had NEVER jumped through windows like that before. My dad quickly fired up the Jeep and we sped out of there with the windows rolling up, dogs being pushed into the back cargo area and doors being locked simultaneously.

We didn’t hunt anywhere near that area the rest of the season and went form hunting 3-4 nights a week to 1-2 at most for the month leading to closing of the season. We would occasionally hunt that area for rabbit in the open fields with 5-6 hunters in the following years but never went back Cooneys hunting or at night period. We told others about it , they didn’t know what to think as that was not something we would bullshit about but I will admit seemed unbelievable.
Later I would hear supposed recordings of what experts claim are whoops and tree knocks of Bigfoot type animals some sound identical to what we heard . But it being before the internet I didn’t stumble upon them until years later when East Tennessee Bigfoot has the guys front leg popular animal plantet show come into this area looking.

So sorry for the long read , this is the 1st time ever putting this down to “paper” and I felt to set the scene you all needed to get how we where hunting that night and for those who have never been in Appalachia coal country what the area was made up of. I will try to remember to cross post this to the creepy thread after posting here .

In reference to the location of my posts. I grew up hunting the mountains of northwest Anderson, Southern Scott and western Roane counties it is now controlled by Windrock off-road park   and they have people from all over the country up to ride those roads and trails.  I hunted and trapped everything from frogs, turtles, grouse , squirrel , rabbit , coon , predators like coyote bobcat , for to deer in my youth . We didn’t hunt turkey due to fishing season.  Never had anything like that happen again , gradually stopped the outdoors stuff going through high school when I found chasing stuff on two legs more fun.
Only to get back into casual hunting in my 30’s but never in those areas . Mostly the farmland around my home .

For the sighting referenced to the farming it was recently when that was discovered and I had moved to the far northwest of Anderson county near Norris lake in rolling farmlands and nice subdivisions .

How about a porcupine, they sure do love to whistle.
It also fits that crazy story of the guy in the field with his sword and the spike backed beast, utter bulls$it.
Anyway sounds like a porcupine.

Next time it whistles at you drop britches and run as fast toward the sound as fast as you can. Carry lube. That way the little green won’t have to walk that far. They hate walking very far.

Then there’s the ‘bate furiously at it.

That's a pretty good story...as my buddies hunt coon pretty much the same way up here (shorter season)...we get back into the deeper areas of National Forest
with some old copper mines and silver mines up in the UP.

Could be natural, super natural or even "hyper natural"...humanoid-animal hybrids turned loose to see if they can survive on their own...

Seems there was a reason this house was cheap.

Third year here.  It is not an old house, but it spent a few years unoccupied after the market crashed.

OP I recommend finding some paranormal myths and legends podcasts to listen to at night to help you sleep.

How many Indian burial grounds is the house built on top of?

If those frogs stopped making noise, there was something near them. Frogs and crows are pretty good indicators of something "off" nearby. Frogs go quite, crows make a shit ton of noise.

Probably one of these 2 cock sucking assholes known as the Vanderbilt Whistlers. Do us all a favor and knock their teeth out.

I used to live on a 1000 acres where the forested mountains meet the desert. I had no neighbors. Each night before bed I'd let the dogs out to run the perimeter and shit and piss. I'd loudly whisper "WATCH", and they'd go into mode and do their thing, each running in a separate direction. One night I was out checking out the Milky Way and from around 15' behind me in the sagebrush, something loudly whispered "WATCH". I fast walked back into the house.

One other thing that was weird that happened there. One night we laid down for bed. About 15 minutes later, something punched me in the hip from under the bed. Wife says, "Did you feel that?" Checked everything and there was no one.

What OP has is scarier than ghosts and Bigfoot’s and stuff like that.

You’ve got a person stalking your property. I’d get cameras and thermal if I was you. Could just be a passing squatter or homeless guy, or it could be more malicious. Either way, prepare to defend yourself. If it’s gotten to the point they are so comfortable as to let you know of their presence by whistling back, they may have turned some corner in their mind. Kind of like how a serial killer starts leaving clues for the police. The thrill of stalking your home is no longer enough for them, they need more to scratch their itch.

Some of the stories in this thread give me the willies. But nothing makes my hair stand up like hearing one of those stories where someone finds a creep looking in their windows at night. It happened to a friend of mine when he was a kid in my old hometown. He was up in his bunk bed late one night and called his dad in because he felt like someone was watching him. His dad calmed him down and left to go back to bed. Sure as shit, when his dad switched the light back off he saw a mans face in the window. He pretended he didn’t see him, called the cops and snuck out the front door. The perp didn’t see/hear him coming and he cracked the perps back with a baseball bat and held him until the cops arrived.

Turned out the guy was a prison escapee and had been squatting in the kids tree fort for a couple days. Could have been a different story all together.

Like I said, people can be way worse than the paranormal. Act accordingly. And trust your dogs and your and their instinct. My GSD does the same “announces their charge into the darkness” when I let him out every night. But once in a while he slinks out, sticks his nose up and sniffs the air and doesn’t leave the deck. I just let him back in, Im certain he smells something he doesn’t want to fuck with out in the woods. No biggie, you can shit in the morning.

I'm moving to the woods or rural PA when I retire. I plan on IR floods on the house and Gen 3 or better. I've been stalked by stuff that I can't see or ID, and while I don't think Samsquash right away I still don't wanna be snuck up on by a methbilly or similar.

I used to drink with a guy who had this weird night vision thing going on.  He could see in the dark almost as if it were daylight.  He was also a Navy Seal back in the late seventies or early eighties, before it was really fashionable to be one.  He used to mess with people all the time if we were out at the lake late at night on a "fishing" trip.  The guy would just slip into the woods and become practically invisible.  Then he'd start making weird noises.  My favorite, though, was the time he swam up to one of our buddies who was fishing on the bank, grabbed him by the ankle, and dragged his drunk ass into the lake.  That was hysterical if a bit horrifying at the time.  I never heard someone scream like that.

So, OP, don't discount that some Operator isn't messing with you.  Don't go near the pond after dark.  Just don't.

We have some isolated property that me and a couple of buddies hunt.  One weekend, two of us were down there deer hunting, and both of us had our nightvision on.  We knew there were coyotes in the area, so we decided to try our hands and sitting on the edge of a field and just watching for anything that may happen out.  After an hour or so, I hear a "hey" in a low raspy voice come from the woods about 300 yards across the field.  We look at each other in disbelief that there could be anyone out here, especially at 1AM, with the nearest house being about a mile away.

a few minutes pass and we hear it again.  At this point I figure someone is in the field, but neither of us see any sort of light coming from the area (if you've ever used night vision, you know that any normal light will glow pretty bright from a good distance off).  so I yell back "HEY".  it responds with the same "hey".  Now we are both really freaked out, and get our rifles at the low ready.  I fire up my illuminator and shine it across the field, but still nothing.  Then it lets out another "hey" and i hear movement in the trees probably 150 yards from us on the opposite side from where we are sitting.  an owl pops out and flies right at us, landing in a tree 15 feet from us.  it lets out one last "hey" then takes off across the neighboring field behind us.

Never in my life, years of hunting areas with no human presence for miles, have I ever been that damn scared.  I just knew we were about to have to get into a firefight with some tweakers or poachers that night.  And it turned out to be an owl.
