OP, both of those items are from the 40's thru 60's not the 70's. They were persistent enough to survive thru the 70's but the items/style is much older.

Mostly it was black folks that bought these, but there were a couple of white families that did too. I used to love to crash out and nap on these. They were really comfortable. Well, I was trying to post a pic of the red and black velvet couches we sold. It was really long velvet, not like all the pics I'm finding with the short velvet. This stuff, you could rub the velvet and change the direction it laid. |
