Art: Sounds like a great place to live! I will be getting out of New Rochelle for a couple of day just to relax and get at least a few hours in at the range. If I finish up this head gasket job early enough I will leave right after work otherwise it will be tommorrow. Unfortunately I have to be back in NY for work by Friday around 7am so I can only stay for two days. I have a saved copy of the original post that benjamin sent me so I would have it fresh in my mind for testimony. That was smart of him because time does lessen the memory of small details. Once I find my desk again, I can email you a copy, but it wil likely be at the end of the week because my desk is somewhere under all this paperwork and auto parts, but at least I can still see my monitor. If you don't find it somewhere else please remind me around Friday when I get back to NY.

Prints and mugshot should be returned, not kept on file. They should be mailed to your attorney.

I just got back from PA and had a great time at the range. I also spoke to a number of shooters at the line who asked about that police evidence sticker on my AR's stock. All but one were in shock that something like that could really happen, that was untill they realized it was in NY and not PA, then they wanted to know more and I was glad to share. The shooter from NJ knew all too well how easy this could happen. The one guy who had a different opinion kind of pissed me off at first with a comment. But being Brothers In Arms we ended up becoming friends after a day at the range. Anyway, he said that you had to have done something more than have someone see your rifle case and other gear in your car. He was probably thinking the same way most of us think about carrying around legally owned weapons. As long as you did not break any gun laws, or any law at all, nothing will happen to you just because your shooting equipment and rifle was eyeballed by a citizen. After a little more conversation he finally understood that the whole point was that nothing should have happened to me on that day, and that the whole event was a big clusterf**k that got way out of control. We talked guns and law and sent hundreds of rounds downrange and I expect to see him on these boards as a new member because he just popped the cherry on his spanking new Bushy Dissapator!

My lawyer has been very attentive to detail and he requested some kind of written proof that this would be done. When I opened my mailbox there was a letter from the NRPD. At first I thought this was bad news and I was a little apprehensive about opening it. But me being a glutton for punishment, I ripped it open and found a letter which stated something to the effect of; Mr--- Your prints and photos will be returned to you, please go to the NRPD to obtain them, be advised that attorneys are not authorized to pick them up on your behalf, only you can sign for thier release....This was great news to me!
