OK I Decided what I am going to do, Since I have talked to my roommate before and that obviously did not work, I will call the police and make sure they arrest her or remove her. I had trouble renting a room at a house from a friend with some other friends. Things weren't happening like we agreed upon before I moved in, I moved out and their rent went up to cover what I wasn't paying anymore. Sucks for them, not my problem. I didn't try to pussyfoot around the problem, and I didn't try to make sure everyone was happy. You have to step on peoples toes sometimes to get whats right. Play it your way or the highway. If you keep bending over she will continue to walk all over you. Next time she says some stupid bullshit about getting you in trouble for indecent exposure in your own apartment, or lying to the cops you need to kick her out on her ass. She has you thinking she is the victim in every situation you have given us. unless you can find another RM your best bet is to leave.
obviously your current RM is a fool, for giving a key to a girl that doesn't pay rent. get a storage unit and move most of your stuff there. install a lock in the meantime so she can't go into your room. don't put anything in the refrigerator, just let it run out. don't clean anything, let her clean her own mess. don't pay for anything, or drive her anywhere. just start looking for another place. when you find something suitable, call the landlord and figure out the terms of removing you from the agreement. pay it and move out. |

Seriously, WTF?? Change the locks. Inform the manager of the apartment that a person NOT on the lease accessing the apartment, and have THEM pay for it. Ask also what options you have to get out of the lease, as your roommate is possibly breaking the lease agreement, and you do not want to be responsible for his actions. Have all of your guns locked in a gun safe, or similar EVERY minute you aren't in the apartment. Buy a lock for your bedroom door. Make sure your room is locked at all times when you aren't there. Your room mate doesn't respect you, find a new one, and be more assertive. Keep looking for that pole.

As a landlord, if a tenant came to you with this situation, what would you be willing to do? Get with your landlord and explain the situation. He probably has a better idea on rental laws in your area then you do. If he'll let you out of the lease, then GTFO immediately. Roommate deserves the heap of crap this girl will put him through once you are gone.
If landlord won't let you out of the lease, then document all the issues, call the cop that visited (should have given you a business card) and get a statement from him, then file a restraining order immediately. |
