Slash, I sent you an email today with the below info.
I have a Larue UU kit in 7.62 with an 18" barrel. I am currently running a Vltor A5 receiver extension, an H3 buffer (AR15 carbine length) and a Tubbs SR-25/AR-10 Flat buffer Spring (standard or carbine).
There does not seem to be enough force to strip the first round from the magazine and push it into the chamber when initially loading. Also, during operation subsequent rounds may or may not strip from the mag either. I have tried a couple different mags and ammo and the problem persists.
Bolt locks back on an empty mag. Brass is thrown at 2-3 O'Clock. Any help/suggestions you can provide will be appreciated.
You recommended I go with the XH carbine buffer (8.5 oz) and a .308 RIFLE buffer spring (#EA1095).
My follow up question is: This rifle is a Battle Rifle build where reliability is paramount, over felt recoil, over smoothness, over buffer/spring noise, etc. Also, I did not mention that the rifle will be operated both suppressed and unsuppressed. Knowing the use case for this rifle, is this considered the most reliable buffer/spring you sell for the 7.62x51 AR or is there another you would recommend? Thanks again for your help.
