[Last Edit: Slash]
CAR-10 Buffer - 5.5 ounces - $110 A CAR-10 buffer will allow you to use any AR-15 collapsing stock on your AR10, SR25, LMT, POF or DPMS-pattern .308 rifle. Standard carbine length stocks cannot be used on these rifles with regular carbine buffers. This is strictly a 'Drop-In' part, no gunsmithing or modifications are required. This product is specifically recommended by Magpul for use with their carbine stocks on .308 ARs. (Call them!) CAR-10 buffers also work great with any other stock using a standard 7" carbine buffer tube. CAR-10 buffers are shorter and heavier than standard carbine buffers. Constructed of 303 Stainless Steel with a sliding Tungsten anti-bounce counterweight. Heavy buffers reduce felt recoil for the shooter, and minimize wear and tear on the gun. Many users report that a CAR-10 buffer significantly increased the reliability of their firearms. I recommend using .308 Carbine Buffer Springs with these buffers. I have these springs custom manufactured specifically for use with the CAR-10 buffers. OEM springs from other manufacturers or aftermarket springs may cause malfunctions. 'Flat-Wire' springs are not recommended for any application. Also available - CAR-10 XH Buffer - 6.5 ounces - $125 Extra-Heavy model for suppressed weapons, or for maximum recoil reduction in non-suppressed guns. I strongly recommend this buffer if any of the following conditions apply:
Note: Not compatible with AR-15s. This buffer is only for use in .308 ARs with standard 7" deep AR-15 carbine receiver extensions. If you have an ArmaLite/VLTOR A5 extended length tube (7-5/8" deep) please see the XH Carbine buffer. CAR-10 buffers are for ArmaLite and SR25/DPMS-pattern .308 guns. For those with Bushmaster or RRA .308s, I also make a buffer that will work in your guns. Please see website for more details. Questions? Please contact me via email, NOT IM. Quantity/dealer discounts available on orders of five or more buffers. |

I bought mine about 8 years ago.. I know he has sold MANY. I had changed stocks and had a jamming problem.
After installing my heavy buffer, I never had another single jam (except a couple ammo related over the years). Definitely solved my problem immediately! |

Is this the preferred spring and buffer for using a Magpul UBR stock on a LR .308 with a midlength gas system?

Hey Clint -
I'm running a pretty stock 14.5" Hogan with a Griffin RSTA suppressor and brake mount pinned & welded. It runs fine unsuppressed but with the can on (and the piston correctly flipped) it seems to cycle too fast and the bolt closes on an empty chamber about 6 out of 10 times, empties eject fine. I'm thinking the XH buffer and your spring, yes? |

|
A CAR-10 XH and a .308 carbine buffer spring would be best.
I'm near Findlay, about an hour south of Toledo. |

picked on up from Brownells... I'd like to see them carry the CAR10 -XH too.
Also didn't realize my full length buffer in my AR10 had died until I took it out to convert over. interesting. |

View Quote AR-10 rifle buffer spring - www.heavybuffers.com/springs This combination works great for any .308 AR with an extended (7.625") receiver extension. This includes ArmaLite, LMT, Smith and Wesson, Larue POF, LWRC and many others (virtually any .308 AR with a 3.25 inch long buffer). Performs equally well with or without a suppressor. |

I'm going to assume that your current buffer tube is 7" deep (2.5" long buffer).
For that configuration I recommend a CAR-10 XH buffer (6.5 oz) and a .308 carbine buffer spring. More info here: www.heavybuffers.com/car10xh If you upgrade to a rifle length stock I suggest a AR10R-XH buffer (10 oz) and a .308 rifle buffer spring. More info here: www.heavybuffers.com/ar10rxh |

I used your buffer years ago so I kind of forgot what I need here.
I have a Armalite AR10 with A2 stock and I'm wanting to replace it with a std BCM reciever extension as to use a adjustable stock. Which buffer and spring do I need? Thanks |

I have a PSA PA-10 in .308 with a mid-length gas system, it has their collapsible stock buffer tube on it. What buffer/spring would I need for it to maximize recoil reduction? I am using their H3 buffer right now with stock spring.
