Seriously considering getting my C&R but I've got a couple of questions first.
In about two weeks I move into a new appartment, the problem with this is that it's an apartment.  Is it possible to have the address that I live at and the address that they are shipped to be different, say my parents or brother's house where curious hands won't get greedy for the big brown box on the stoop?
Also, when you sell a C&R does the buyer have to fill out any paperwork like a 4473, or does it still work like a private sale? Thanks for any help. |

Also, I need to dig out my original paperwork from the first time 3 years ago. |

I'm filling out my application for a new C AND R license. I previosly had one, but let it expired about two years ago. On the new application on number 11 it asks if I ever held a FFL. If I answer yes it says I have to give full details on a "Seperate Sheet". What does that mean and do I need a specific piece of paper?
Also 10c asks if I have a hunting license. I've been told to skip this (not a hunter at the moment). Is that correct? Thanks for any assistance. |

I can't remember exactly what the forms looked like or the questions, sorry. I do remember making a copy of my renewal form and sending that to my sheriff. As an update, I still havent received my renewal and my C&R has since expired. They couldnt even send me the temp one as I requested. I know they recieved it as they cashed my check within a week or so of me mailing it. What number or office do I call to see what is going on with my C&R license? Edit 1/16. Called ATF, They said my renewed license was mailed 11/16.  I told them to just send another.

Mine was processed more quickly than I thought it would be: Mailed: 12/19 Received: 1/14 No complaints from me, especially since this was during the holiday season. I told myself I was going to hold off on making any new purchases until the end of the month. Not sure if that will hold up. |

Still waiting on mine, Today was 10 weeks. I've had plenty of background checks. I don't think they have anything to do with it. From what I understand different offices process different areas of the country. Some are faster than others. |

If you answer yes to ever having a ffl , what I did was make a copy of my old license and write a short note on it that this was my old license that expired and I am applying for a new one. Seems to have worked. On 10C I put no since I did not have a license at the time. I skipped the others in that section. Sent in jan 17th. Got license feb 9th. Not too bad time wise. |

You're already set, but I have a late response to your question about section 10. I know, I know...but this can help others in the future:
Section 10 only needs to be filled out by nonimmigrant alien applicants. In other words, people that are not U.S. citizens that are here on a non-immigrant status. Generally, nonimmigrants cannot possess firearms. However, there are some exceptions including one for those nonimmigrants that have been lawfully admitted into the United States for "lawful hunting or sporting purposes" OR are in "possession of a hunting license or permit lawfully issued in the United States." That's why #10 asks about a hunting license/permit. U.S. citizens can skip #10 entirely. |

I got a question about the renewal app. the small white form about citizenship
question 2 " name of person CERTIFYING TO citizenship" Would that be a friend of mine or someone else? or can I ship this form all together because I was born here Thanks |

CC..............03/8/2013 RX'd............XX/XX/13 I called today and followed these guidelines (below from post 3 of this thread). I was instructed that they (ATF) are about 60-90 days out from receipt. ATF phone number in Atlanta - (404) 417-2750 or 1-866-662-2750 fax number is: (404) 417-2751 or 1-866-257-2749 Of course, after about 10 days, you'll need to call and find out just where the heck your license is. Call this number and ask for the licensing dept. Tell them you are calling about the status of your C&R license. They will then ask what state you are applying in, and transfer you to the person handling your license. That person almost never seems to answer the phone. I was told they get about 100 apps per day. I don't know if they meant per state or countrywide. I'm sure that includes 01 and 03 FFL's. |

Mailed 12/15/2012 Check cashed 2/4/2013 Approved/mailed: ???? I've called and written letters, the best they can tell me is that it is in processing. ***Update*** Minutes after posting this I receive a call from the ATF office, they advised me that my check was cashed and my application was processed. However when it came up for final review my application had been misplaced. I had to complete the form and email it directly to the agent. Once she confirmed the reciept of it she said it was approved and would be in the mail the next day. Eariler this week I finally got my license. |

About #1 I can't answer, and #2- that's considered a straw purchase, Don't Do It. you can get your C&R revoked for that BTW, just recieved mine yesterday, took almost 60 days from cc charge. |

Received an email from Midway asking for an renewal C&R FFL. Now I get to call the ATF again for my update paperwork, and only a few weeks until it expires, but I should make it. It's just too bad the ATF didn't send me the renewal forms, it would make things easier Update: Good news, I think. called the ATF, I Submitted my update back in March, they are behind with processing, and my FFL expired 5/1 |

| Alright I have a question. I want to get my C&R 03 FFL. But I cannot have the guns at my house because it's not technically my house so not my rules not aloud to have them there. So what should I do sense the guns can't be there? I am aware I can have them shipped to a different address and stored at a different one also. It says " It should be noted that any FFL receiving firearms at locations other than their licensed premises must maintain accurate records of acquisition and disposition of firearms. The acquisition of firearms must be recorded by the close of the following business day or, if commercial records are maintained, within 7 days following the acquisition (See 27 CFR 478.125(e) and (g)). In the event of an ATF compliance inspection, the FFL must make all records and firearms inventory available for inspection. In addition, if the location is used as a continuous off-site storage facility, the FFL must notify the FFLC so that the address can be placed on file." |
