Got a letter in the mail Saturday saying my license hadn't been approved since I didn't include an explanation for 11A (checked yes for previously having a FFL).
Was going to call today, but my 03 FFL showed up in the mail this afternoon 
Guess they figured it out? |

Update.
Mailed 2/24 Charged 2/27 Entered 3/5 Still pending 3/21 Mailed back 3/28. (don't forget to put your Social in #9) Sent back to ATF 4/1. Now we play the waiting game. Called today 4/12/2012 and talked to the lady in charge of my application. Was approved today and will be in the mail tomorrow.... WHAT A COINCIDENCE! I just HAPPEN to call (they open at 8:30 and I called on my break at 9:00) less than 30 minutes after it's been approved! What are the Odds???? /sarcasm off Oh well, just glad to hear back. I expect it Monday/Tuesday-ish. |

Talked to my wife today since I'm out of town for work until this weekend. Apparently, I got a mysterious packet from the BATFE in the mail... she said it felt like it had a phone book in it... I'm gonna guess that my C&R finally arrived.
Mailed 3/21 Charged 3/27 Alledgedly arrived 5/3 Guess I've got a busy weekend of copying and preparing to mail a lot of things out next week. |

So just got my C&R this past Saturday, and found out a few things that may be helpful to some folks looking in large part to obtain the dealer discounts with their C&R.
Emailed signed copies of my C&R to Midway, Brownells, and Grafs. All accepted them by email and got me immediately hooked up with the dealer pricing, and here's what I found out about each (which by the way are presented in the same order in which I received the discount from the retailer)...... 1. MidwayUSA - I already had about 30 items in my "wish list" prior to getting the discount. Looking through them all and comparing them to the non-discounted prices, the discount is usually around $0.50 to $3 depending on the item. Prior to obtaining the dealer discount, I had been using the often posted coupons at slickguns.com that often provides $10 off 50, $15 off 100, and $20 off 200. I discovered that under dealer pricing, you can no longer use these coupon codes. Randomly picking some items in my wish list, in order to get $10 off, I'd likely have to put over $100 worth of merchandise in my cart. In this case, on most "small orders" of say less than $200, it makes more sense to buy at consumer prices and get the coupon discount. I could see the discount becoming more pertinent if really ordering in dealer type quantities/amounts, but again, unless you're ordering several hundred dollars or more of stuff at a time, I think it makes more financial sense to use regular pricing, in line with more of a consumer type use. Seems like their discounting practices truly is to reward buyers of dealer type volume. Oh, also there's a $4 fee for orders less than $40 as opposed to I believe a $3 consumer charge for orders less than a certain amount, again if your orders tend to be on the smaller size, it benefits to not be under dealer rules. 2. Grafs - Per the email I received, "dealer minimum order is $100, a small order fee for orders less than $100 is now $5." Also, "to maintain dealer pricing you must purchase a minimum of $2,000 annually. So again, for most average consumers, placing smaller orders, they're discount seems aimed at true dealers. 3. Brownells - Also had several items in my wish list, which after re-examining once the dealer prices went into effect, I noticed average discounts of between several dollars up to 15-20 dollars depending on the item. As Brownells infrequently has coupon codes, I found this to be an excellent discount for a more average to slightly above average consumer perchaser like myself. Conclusion - When obtaining a C&R for online ordering discount dealer prices, consider your purchasing habits/typical volume/prices, and if you're like me, a fairly average to slightly above average firearm product consumer, definitely get the Brownells discount, but stick to MidwayUSA's coupons, and +/- on bothering with Grafs. Nothing against any of these companies, I just think that they're doing what they mean to do, offer discounts to large volume orders, and not necessarily looking to give that much of a discount to an average Joe that get's his C&R, as seems to be the promise on this and other forum posts like it. |

Anyone doing a renewal rather than a new application?
I sent my renewal application and check on 10/10/12 and have heard nothing back yet - check has not been cashed yet. This is my first renewal but i would have thought this would be a fairly swift process. Worth a call or a letter? |

Sent my renewal out a couple days after you, havent got anything back yet, but the check was cashed within a week back in October. I requested them to send the the temp license or whatever it is just in case, but got nothing and my current C&R runs out this week. |
