Here is my MK18 build.
I built it from LMT parts. Pictured are a PVS14 w/ magnifier, KAC RAS, eotech 552 and Gemtec HALO. Even with the HALO on its still uncomfortably loud. I have been using this one for 3 gun because it is faster to get on target than anyone else's longer AR's. I built this one to the MK18 spec with some exceptions. It has the RAS instead of the RIS since I already had an RAS on hand. It also does not have the KAC flash hider. I did put an H2 buffer in it but had problems with short stroking so I reverted back to a civilian buffer and that fixed that problem. I also had a "D" fender rubber extractor do-dad but removed it in favor of the 5 coil copper colored extractor spring since I elongated the extractor pin hole on my LMT bolt causing failures to eject when the "D"fender was in it and I had the gun configured as a pistol. I replaced the bolt with an FN one like the military uses as its standard replacement bolt. I did how ever keep the one-piece McFarland gas ring. 
Here's a pic with out all the tacticool PX ranger junk attached. This is how I shoot it for 3 gun.

Holy shit, is that a pork eating crusader lower? If so, where can I get one? Nice looking rifle, also. How do you like that Troy stock? I haven't really seen many reviews on it. |

Thanks. I figured it was appropriate since it had a Noveske Crusader barrel.
I had it custom engraved. Turned out really well. I really like the cheek weld of the Troy stock. It's a heavy sucker, but seems extremely durable. Most of the weight seems to be in the metal trap door- which may actually balance some guns better. It would be nice if they offered a version with a bumper like the CTR, iMod, eMod etc. I'm becoming increasingly fonder of the Troy mags. |
