I can finally post in this thread. Yeah I know the PRT version of the NT4 is superior in all functional and practical ways. But there is something cool knowing that some dude back in Florida who's a master of his craft welded this thing together and now here I am 3000+ miles away being able to enjoy it. Plus I already have a 556 PRT for work, a personally owned MCQ arriving in a few days, and I've wanted an NT4 for a dozen+ years. I mounted the M4QD flash hider to this Colt 6921, but I am waiting for the Triple Tap to get back in stock either at KAC direct or Rooftop Defense (I'm not paying almost $600 at spots like Operation Parts or Rainier Arms when they can be had for under $400), as that will go on this 10.3" Colt so I can use the suppressor on both. I pulled the Surefire FH556-212a off this evening and the Surefire FA556-212 suppressor is being relegated for the NT4. Attached File Attached File |

This thread is awesome . I’ve wanted an NT4 can forever. I’ve got a Surefire RC2 and RC3. As a lefty the reduced gas of the RC3 is huge. My MK18 Mod 0 is sitting with an NT4 flash hider on it and needs a can. I’m torn on tracking down a legacy QDSS or the PRG variant. I know I’ll enjoy shooting the PRG more but the OG version just has the correct look. It’s a hard choice .

I have no inside knowledge of what KAC's production plans are, but if I had to guess, it is more likely that the OG will cease production at some point, and the PRT will continue as printed stuff evermore becomes the standard. Added, KAC has a bunch of options with PRT/flow-through technology. There is only one OG QDSS. This is coming from a guy that just picked his up a little over a week ago. I've never been more excited picking up a suppressor, thinking about the history, pedigree, and legacy that comes with this thing. |

It is a night and day difference with my face right next to the ejection port. That weighed heavily on my decision. Stopped by my friendly neighborhood NFA dealer and they had a QDSS NT4 PRG in black which is what I wanted. It was at the new price point so I scooped it up. Here’s hoping for a quick approval. Maybe one day I’ll snag an OG for collectors sake but I won’t be upset if miss the chance. Since this is a pic thread, the rifle it will be going on.   |
 I get it, but the printed one is going to be available for quite some time. The OG is going to go away and never come back (and you don't know when), at which point the price of the ones left on the market are going to skyrocket. That being said, I'm in a state where I can't have cans so I'm just angry at all of you that can.

All my years of using the og NT4 in the USMC and having a couple personal ones I can tell you the NT4-PRG is a much better can. If you get to play with an og one look at the first baffle vs the one in the PRG and you'll see why the PRG will last a lot longer. And nice Mk18 Mod 0

I doubt we will see any more NT4s after these recent shipments. They're more expensive to produce with lower profit margins and the tech isn't as good as the PRG version. That being said, as long as they're still making them for any current or future contracts, it's always a possibility, but if you're considering getting one, the time is now. Don't wait. |

Probably not the last batch, but could be last batch for several months. Half our order was fulfilled back in like September, the rest is inbound now. We have a bunch of Taupe ones on the way if you want to snag one. |
