View Quote @wookie1562 Yes they do make the rail, but they are not expected to (maybe) have them again until after the new year. I had ordered one with my rail, and when the rail arrived without it I asked about the rail. He said they were OOS and not expected until he started making M14 stuff again after he moved his shop. That was the timeframe he gave me. He did say the MLOK rails will work, but they have to be modified. I'm not sure exactly what has to be done, and since I took the M14.ca rail off of mine anyway I didn't get into modifying an MLOK rail. The mounting holes are pretty close, but because of how close the handguard body sits to the barrel securing the rail inside isn't easy. Not sure why he went with a proprietary design, but that's one of the things I don't like about the rail. It is a very high quality rail, and I don't think you're going to find another rail that can get things as low as this one does. That rail issue is just irritating to me when I want to mount a light or DBAL. ETA: pic thread. Barrett low pic mount with Razor Gen2E MRAD |

I may be able to put a polymer MLOK on the CNC router and open up the bolt head countersink to accept a thin nut. Then a short bolt can be screwed from the inside. May be easier to just design and 3d-print an entire new rail. |

I think it wouldn’t be too hard to modify an MLok rail, IF the screws align with the slots on the handguard. |

I think it wouldn’t be too hard to modify an MLok rail, IF the screws align with the slots on the handguard. When I was looking at modding an MLOK rail, running one from the inside out was what I was think would almost have to be done because of how close the rail interior surface is to the barrel. It is a very tight fit in there. ETA: I was considering tapping a rail section to allow that. |

Yeah, it wouldn’t take too much work to mod something. But in the end, given the angle up from, this is just a light mount.

Something to watch for with the lights, I had a 3V SF scout light in an Arisaka side mount on the M14.ca rail. Because the light was behind the front sight wings I got horrible glare off of that. With a 6V it is better, but I also am using with the VLTOR rail. I tried several combinations of mounts with the M14.ca rail and kept running into the same issue. As long as your light body and mount combination puts your light forward enough you should be fine, but with the smaller lights you can potential end up with that glare coming right back in your eyes depending on your sight and setup.

Not worried about clone-correct, I have a Scout so it's not the right model anyway. Just want the scope down as low as I can get it. Thanks for the info!
