I like the CRKT knives and here is a Titainium version they have        with it's OD clone, it is worn but you can't tell in the pic    The green one I bought in 2001 for I think $70 The Titainium handled one for $129. I think I was robbed but I like it and it is made well so... Both have a blade made from AUS 8, don't know what it is but it holds an edge well. |
A cross section of my folding knives. Top to bottom. 1) My field/work knife, Buck Strider: Haven't had it for long, hasn't been on a camping trip... but has stood up to every day chores for a couple of months. This is very strong and is now my "go to" knife. 2) My EDC, Gerber EZOut Jr. I'm not really supposed to have a pocket knife at work, so this is just my keychain right? I'm forgetful about stuff but attaching it to my work keys ensures that I have it with me. 3) Backup serious knife, KBar warthog plain edge folder: This was my first decent quality folder, it is now the backup to my Strider. 4) Backup to the back up, El cheapo lock blade: This was my primary for quite some time, back in the poor days. Now it's in the junk drawer and I really wouldn't hesitate to break it out again. 5) Dress Carry: Gerber ukn: for when I don't want a big nkife sticking out of my pocket. |

funny you post the Kabar and Nighthawk together I always thought they were similar in terms of length and feel. Use the nighthawk alot more than the Kabar these days |

I've finishedquite a few knife projects recently and got a few in the works. These first few are all made from german trade blades. I love this bladshape and size for general outdoor use..    A small utility knife made from a sawzall blade. I got quite a few sawzall blade knives in the works.   Sawzall rattail patch knife.  And, a knife overhaul and weight loss project. This...  Was one of these..I think the steel is happier now that is has become usable. :)
