The 553, 556R, 556XI R, they need the MCX R.

This being a MCX thread, I’m specifically speaking of the MCX platform.

@coregon can you comment on previous gen support after this new version is released? Will I be able to still get factory parts from Sig for my Virtus rifle?

Must be a newer model of the 4T or 4S because it's not on the system yet.

I'm legacy4lyfe, but the Gen3 seems to be the move. With regards to this question, I would suggest counting the rail slots before the handguard. If they are the same as the Virtus, at least there's a chance.

I’m not really complaining. Completely understandable situation. You have to get the content ahead of time to a group that has to wait for a release date.

Same. Gen 3 11.5" 5.56 in tan would become my primary 5.56 rifle.

With smartphones in every corner it was bound to happen. I'm sure a bunch of these guys sneak out photos before hand and make sure they can't be traced back. I miss seeing new cool stuff. I got to shoot some XDM's before they were XDM's and they just sent them to us and asked for feedback.

First off, the "Gen 3" pictures have been circulating around ~9/2021 when this picture from some Sig event started floating around:

In addition, earlier this summer pictures of Cole Fackler of GBRS Group running the MCX Gen 3 in 7.62x39 started coming out. Again, pictures of the Gen3 and the 7.62x39 variant are nothing new and have been in circulation for some time.

All this free advertising for Sig only helps them and the hype machine for the Gen 3 as guys try to patiently wait for the next thing.

@tranzformer

I was speaking about a specific event that I may (or may not) have attended. Not just the “Gen 3 MCX” images previously released.

I may (or may not) have a lot of images and new information to share as well, but I also respect that SIG has timelines, release dates, and marketing plans that need to be followed. So I follow the rules. Others don’t follow SIG’s requests which takes away from the actual release day announcement.

But maintaining trust is more important than being first on a new product release. Even one as hot as a new MCX.
