Looks like HK is dropping 1000 HK M27 IARs for civilian ownership.
Any insight into these? Are they proper spec or are they lacking beyond the happy switch.

I bought the standard rifle well it’s marked MR27 and the barrel has no bayonet lug the barrel is heavy and not chrome lined but not IAR profile. No NT4 flash hider and um well that’s the major things I think, comes with a nice case and cool challenge coin. It has the tool pins not standard the serial numbers don’t match upper and lower I have no idea why at 4K. It’s an MR556 with some add ons. Trinkets and such IDK I like it. I carried an A2 an M4A1 so I’m not an expert but I really like the SDO and RMR combo.

So it’s just an MR556 with 11” hand guard and different markings with an MSRP of $4399, I’m not impressed nor is it surprising considering HK & Germany rules/laws that HK USA has to follow.

OP unless you have to have the MR27 markings the cheaper option would be just get an MR556A1 for $3200 and then shop around online or the EE for the 11” rail for around $400.  You’ll come out ahead with money for other accessories like the KAC NT4 FH, Harris bipod and rail adapter, plus others for the same price of the “tribute” rifle.
