USB-C instead of that kludgey 9-pin Fisher cable.

Most importantly to me, there’s cleaned up menus with actual English words instead of mystery icons. Navigating through submenus is a breeze now.

Got my V1 out hunting for the first time last night. Really like this thing. It’s great as a clip on in front of a 1-6. Definitely not a long range setup, but great for hunting applications.

Unfortunately it was a quick trip and no hogs were harmed. We got on a big boar right away and he was moving. We attempted to get ahead of him and get a shot, but everything is still grown up just enough that it was easy for him to hide and finally disappear. Can’t wait for Winter.

This was taken with my Finder V2, but features the RH25

That's around the same price as the V1 before recent liquidation sales. MSRP for both units is $5499.

Waiting to actually see just how big of an improvement the display is before I really regret grabbing a v1 at nearly half price. I'm plenty happy with it. USB-C is nice, but I never plug mine in, anyways.

so if you're using it as a clip-on it should be noticeably better and pretty neglible everywhere else?

Great thread and thanks for all who have contributed.

Just picked up an rh25 and going down the FTS rabbit hole.

Any solutions out there for using FTS mount with 1.93+ optics?

So the V1 spec sheet says they are 12oz and some change.  The V2 says 11oz and some change.  I just weighed my V1 on a food scale that has historically been accurate and it weighed 11.85 WITH the pic tail adapter installed and no battery.  Anyone else weigh theirs?  Should I get a different scale?

No that any of this really matters, just found it curious.

I currently have a super hogster that I use for coyote hunting. I shoot out to about 300 yards. How would one of these compare in front of a 1-6? Are 300 yard shots on coyotes realistic?

@Onehorsefarmer

DGSI makes an adapter plate that works with EOTech STS mount. It's advertised as 1.93 inch co-witness.

Not sure if links are allowed, but Google search for 'RH25 STS mount'.

Apologies in advance if links are a no-no.

Any thoughts on this?
It's the first I've seen of a dovetail riser.

It's essentially a Chinese copy of the HRF Concepts dovetail.
And dovetail risers make little sense:
using that type of tall dovetail instead of a riser under your FTS mount, your RH25 will be hanging way off to the side of your rifle when you flip it out of the way.
Additionally, it makes your RH25 almost unusable on a dovetail helmet bridge because it will hang too low (and certainly not align with the device you're running on your other eye).

Thanks for your input.
Your sbr is on my list to pick up.

It seems the fts mount on a pic riser is a viable solution.

I have a teeny .22lr nightvarminter with very minimal rail space, so wanted something smaller than flip-to-side mounts, and decided I really didn't need to switch super-quick between thermal and the 2x ACOG that's on it.

Have any of you tried using the Chineseum NON flip OASYS dovetail?

It lines up with my little ACOG in the factory Trijicon M16 thumbscrew mount. I don't have a LPVO handy to try it with, but have a 4x ACOG, a Trij MRO, and a lower-power Leupold MK6 I can pop on and size up for comparison sake.
(The current setup has a skinny FOV in front of the 20mm Objective lens 29.5' FOV babyCOG - obviously no fault of the mount - but I need to see if I can get a larger sight picture with a bigger objective optic. Right now I can't see any of the menus on the RH25V2 through this teenyCOG)

It just takes three slots of pic rail space, simple screw-on riser-mount that has a female dovetail and a little spring-loaded lever on one end to capture the dovetail. To install thermal: Slide dovetail in, lever clicks up. To remove thermal: push lever down, slide dovetail out.

They're like $13 on Aliexpress, have both OASYS and Wilcox logos on them (sad), but there's no currently listed Wilcox product analogous to it. They're listed on Ali as "flip" but they don't flip or otherwise move.

Also, just for fun: I was at the Snake River, where some of the older folks might remember Evel Knievel jumping the gorge in a rocket "motorcycle" back in 1974.
Perrine Bridge is a world-known BASE jumping site, 8th highest bridge in the USA, and apparently Idaho doesn't mind dorks just walking out of their car, freaking out oncoming traffic, and jumping off the bridge.  :)

Caught this gent while messing around with the V2 thermal - daytime, probably 75 degrees out so minimal resolution conditions, a few hundred yards away by the time he landed.

Sits a little high for the ACOG on Larue mount, but works fine through the scope.  The catch to release the flip to side is right at the back, so it's pretty tight with the ACOG base.  Most other scopes will be fine since there is more room there.  I'm about to move it to another rifle, but at only $70 each I could see having these on a number of rifles.

Ha, I had not noticed until these pictures that it has a fake Wilcox logo on it.  I'm actually sad about that

Just a heads up for anyone looking to buy these Chinese non-flip mounts.

The one I recieved was nowhere close to being in spec for any dovetails I tried in it. It had close to 1/8 of an inch of slop where it should have mated with the back of the dovetail. Tried with the HRF, Pictail, and SBR rail.

Maybe they have fixed them from when I bought mine a couple years ago. But it's was absolutely unusablea and I am not aware of any dovetail designs that would have worked with it

Agreed: This was my experience, which is why I asked to see if that was “normal”. However, I spread some adhesive in the female dovetail channel / on the side walls, and made it snug.

ETA: I actually think it’s a nice mount for a PVS14 *behind* a dot sight. Don’t need as much of a precision fit there because it’s just being used to view the dot in front of it, and it allows me to use the helmet PVS with OSS shoe dovetail- take off helmet, click behind Aimpoint, easy and small.

Yeah! Good looking out Frenchie!
I've had to do some Dremel action on dovetails and other shit to make it snap into place myself. If only Wilcox produced quantity and lowered their damn prices low enough for a Lance Corporal to buy them!

Welp I bought one of the Chinese non-flip "oasys" mounts and can confirm it is worthless. There is front to back play with the SBR dovetail, to the point I would worry about it getting damaged from knocking back and forth under recoil.

Are there any good inexpensive alternatives to the ADM mount?

What functionality are you looking for specifically? Do you want flip to side? What optic mounting height?
Since you already have the SBR adapter, it would make the most sense to have some sort of dovetail mount. You could try one of the Sotac clones of the Wilcox FTS mounts, those are only $75 and my experience with them has been good:

I want the ability to quickly go from helmet to weapon mounting. Don't care about QDing the mount from the weapon itself. I don't think I would use the FTS function either.

Is the SOTAC really tight enough that you are not worried about the RH25 bouncing around in recoil and potentially damaging the RH25?

I should probably just pony up for the ADM mount but I was hoping to save some $ just to try out and make sure the clip on function works like I imagine it will. I could not get it to work properly with the OEM mount, but it might have been the particular optic I was using or the jenky setup I was running to get to the 1.9" OEM mount height.

The 2 SOTAC FTS that I have are rock solid with the SBR dovetail.  I attached and detach the RH25 from the mount a lot more than I use the FTS.  FTS doesn't do much for me since I need the RH25 for scanning.  I'm looking through an ACOG, maybe it would be a little different with a LPVO scope where scanning is a bit easier.  It's just a little lever to disconnect it.  Attaching is just hitting the dovetail receptacle and it clicks in by itself.

Bagged my first nutria the other night in my pond.  I thought it might have been beavers, since I have a few trees down with beaver sign, and I didn't want to lose more.  But nutria are fun too.  Got at least 3, maybe 5.  Recovered these 2.  A couple known escapees.  This was with my 300BLK at about 75-100 yards.  AAC Sabre 110gr.  My neighbor did say later she heard me shooting, but thought it was a .22.  Once I get the subs sighted in I can really go to town.  The ACOG with 300BLK reticle is great for supers but I haven't verified the sub BDC yet.

It's not going anywhere. It's rock solid tight. There's no magic material that Wilcox makes their FTS out of, and let's face it. it's not like Wilcox is particularly famed for the consistency of their machining anyways.

I bounced my RH25 off my moving car roof today.  Last night was scanning around and the turned it off and put it on the car roof to go do some things in the yard.  Obviously, stupid and forgot about it.  Almost freezing last night, but under a carport so no dew on it.  Then this morning, took off in the car and heard a thump when going around the first turn in my driveway.  Knew just what it was and went back and found it in the grass, after it bounced off the gravel.  Some dust on the lens cap but seems 100% functional.

Yeah, let's not do that.

So I got an RL25 instead of the RH25. I should have jumped on the V1 when it was being sold for 4k but I was trying to stack as much ammo and get into reloading before this election, oh well. I couldn't really justify the 5k price tag for a V2 and I found the RL on sale. The only thing is, I'm an idiot and didn't realize this doesn't have a clip on mode.

I'm still going to try to figure out how I can use it as a clip on, if that doesn't work then I'll just use it as a dedicated optic, and helmet mounted. The only problem is it won't go into standalone mode. I've read the manual and holding all 3 buttons does nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions? so far the only thing I can think of is doing a firmware update.

Also, the 18650 batteries provided are actually a little longer than the 18650 batteries I have on hand, and the shorter ones don't work. Whats the deal with that? I though 18650 was a spec for length and diameter.

The problem is that the RL25 has a base optical magnification of 2x. This is good in the sense that you can use it more effectively as a weapon sight and it doesn't hurt the handheld bit too much. It's bad in most other respects, including helmet-mount and clip-on.

Reading the manual, it looked like the base mag was 1.3x but it reduces in helmet mount mode. But I don’t think there is a way to zero without a reticle that I can see to use it as a clip on.
If my wife had another baby and I was in the delivery room, I'd probably look at it and yell "welcome back bitch" and then have the hospital page Norcal. -scuba_steve

That's the RH25. The RL25 is 2x optically.

The way the manual is written wasnt clear if that was both or only the RH25. Looking through it again next to my PVS14 it is clearly 2x. My brain can not reconcile the 2 images but I’m not sure I could even if it was 1x.

I’ll still get my intended use out if it, if I can get it to go into standalone mode.

ETA Turned it on this morning and got it into standalone mode, don’t know what I did differently. Being that it’s 2x I can tell I loose a little field of view looking through an LPVO. Still debating how I want to use it.

I’ve been playing with it a lot today and notice that the birds I’ve been looking at don’t have any contrast with the the ground. I’m hoping it’s just because the sun has warmed it up, I plan on trying it again tonight.

Apparently shooting beavers at midnight with the RH25, even suppressed, is frowned upon in this establishment

Apropos of nothing, what is the secret to getting the USB connection to work?  My computer won't recognize it using the factory cable.  Is there some drive that I might be missing?

My V2 wouldn’t recognize on an iMac, so I tried it on a Windows laptop. Sort of recognized but still shaky. I had to use the phone app to get files out to iPhone then send to computer for editing. They are aware of this at IRay and need to debug. I assume there will be a firmware update fix. Keep reminding IRay that needs to be fixed.
