I think the old reticle has the better center dot setup.

I'm just doing this as a side project in my free time. As such, I'm dependent on a machine shop to squeeze this prototyping work inbetween his actual contracts that make him money. Not sure what the status of this is but don't let the HRF release deter you from continuing development on this.  The pic rail mount capability of your mount has me holding off on the HRF in favor of your design.  I only have 1 rifle that wears a Wilcox FTS full time and I don't plan to spend 2k just to outfit the rest of my rifles with individual fts mounts, I greatly prefer having 1 rifle as a primary thermal rifle while retaining the ability to put it on other guns as necessary.

Thanks for your continued interest! The development is definitely ongoing, unfortunately things are taking longer than expected. I hope to have a video out in the second half of June showing all the features in detail.

The dovetail dimensions are different for the Wilcox Oasys/SkeetIR FTS mount and the Wilcox magnifier FTS mount. If this is the magnifier mount, how well is it interfacing with the RCS that is designed for the Oasys/SkeetIR mount?

I believe mine is the magnifier version as it came with the shoe to fit an EOtech magnifier. It is very snug and fits very well.

Do you have one of each to show side by side? What is different about them? Just the lengths of the dovetails or their angles, too?

Just statements from Wilcox and TNVC that they are not interchangeable and the fact that the mounts have different SKUs.

Additionally, the mounts are visually different externally. But I don't have measurements on anything.

Out of curiosity, is it so you can run different batteries or to prolong the life of it? I am pretty surprised with the life of one 18650 in it. Does pretty well.

Have you tested multiple 18650s to see which gives you the best battery life? Trying to decide what to buy to have as spares.

I haven’t. I loaded up on about 40 of the modlite “blem” batteries when they were on sale for 5 bucks each. They are only blems because they don’t have a branded sticker on them and are pepto pink. They usually last the 6 hours advertised and I’ve never had an issue.

Yes, this is designed and machined in Germany! It is important to understand that none of the other solutions that are available to US users are available in Europe. So I decided to solve the problem myself.

Personally, I like that it sits a bit high. It will work great with both 1.5" and 1.7" mounts.

Just to manage expectations a little bit:
it will likely be weeks/months before these are finalized. Currently this is a personal fun project and I'm having both my machinist and the coater run these as side projects inbetween volume orders to keep development costs down.
If it ends up economically feasible in any way, I want to make these available for sure. I'd rather underpromise and overdeliver than have people be disappointed in the end.

Does anyone know if the RH25 shares a mounting footprint with anything else? Or is it proprietary? I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to make the RH25 work with a FTS mount. I’m aware that I can buy a $400-500 Wilcox mount and the $125 HRF RCS dovetail shoe to accomplish what I’m after, but there has to be a “more economical” option, right?

It’s proprietary

I bought my used Wilcox FTS for $200, and the clones are $100.

The Pictail can be modified to fit, or get the HRF adapter (sorry I probably bought the last one though, they are OOS right after I ordered).

$300-$400 for the best mounting solution of a $6K thermal isn’t really that bad imo. If there was an alternative to the Wilcox FTS, it probably wouldn’t be as high quality

Hey guys, just re-read this whole thread and was wondering, and updates, comments, or concerns you'd like to share?

First of all, looking real hard at getting a RH25 or PFN640.  Principally looking for a "clip-on", for use with either EXPS3-0 & 3x or Razor HD 1-6.  So am I to understand the "international" model does not have reticles?  Because if I just want a clip-on, I don't need it/them and this saves a lot of bucks.  But then warranty issues, right?

So the majority of issues have now been solved with new 2023 updates?  On the US versions as well?

Have you guys had time to play with the FTS mounts and the aftermarket dovetails for the RH?  This makes the most sense to me.  Is there no issue with flipping the dovetail around for use with a "reversed" FTS (sitting in FRONT of optic)?  And you would now want a LEFT side flip mount because it's backwards?  Or just now flip it to the left?  Which dovetail are you looking at?  HRF, Jan's, or modified vendor/factory?

I have 4 of the SOTAC FTS mounts that came with 5/8" and .416" risers, not to mention one Wilcox riser and FTS.  These are all for magnifiers but my thought is: can they can be modifed as a low cost solution to making mounts available across several rifles.  Has anyone explored this yet, as far as modifying magnifier mounts into accepting shoes for "Oaysis" mounts and vice-versa?  If so I would like to explore this option with FTS's I have available for R&D.

And finally, any updates to the remote batt/cable interface issues?  IF I do run HMT, then this would be highly desirable.  And I don't suppose I-Ray released their "OSS" mount yet.

Just to clear things up for you guys asking about the PFalcon. It comes with the reticle disabled which only take the press of a couple buttons to activate.

It has a reticle and zero profiles just like the American version.

In fact the only differences of the PFalcon I can tell, based on personal experience (now owning a PFalcon in addition to the Rh25s I had), is:

1) the power on screen is different
2) the color of the housing is black
3) the reticle needs enabled (takes a couple seconds)
4) it comes with a helmet mount
5) the price (cheaper because it avoids import tariffs)
6) the warranty (varies based on what vendor, but should be 3 years usually)
7) Bonus… some older ones came with a visible laser

@Diz the HRF shoe didnt work for me. It was extremely loose. It was unusable and caused massive amount of zero/screen shift. That’s just a sample of one with my particular (genuine) Wilcox mount.

Iray USA/ADM Pictail Adapter Comparison Vs. HRF

Sorry, really crappy videos. I sent them to HRF. They seemed to want to insist that nothing could possibly be wrong with their mount and that my Wilcox FTS is probably fake (its not). They were pretty friendly/helpful other than that and refunded me.

The pictail mounts are super solid however so I just went back to modding them for the Wilcox.

@mah827 yes Canada, and they are about $4,300 shipped

I appreciate the pics. Just waiting for my RH25 to show up to see what type of setup I want to run.

There's pictures of a CAG LVAW with the Voodoo-S behind the optic for FTS observation. I thought it was a pretty slick setup and wouldn't mind trying it out.

I have a genuine Wilcox Oasys mount and the HRF RCS and the lock up feels solid. I do not, however, have my PFalcon in hand yet. Maybe once the device is mounted play will become evident. I certainly hope not.

As for using the magnifier mount, I'm not sure I'd want to rely on that as they don't have a latch that locks the mount into position.
