Gray model ordered from Gunprime Friday for for $869.  Shipped today.  With my FFL transfer, OTD will be $884.  Probably not the best, but I'm satisfied.  Already have Wolff XP mag tube springs ordered.

They need to ditch the QD socket on the bottom of the stock and put one on either side. While we’re on the topic, PLEASE use QD sockets with anti rotation stops. I have no idea why companies do that crap. It really irritates me to buy a $300 rail or a $1000 shotgun with unusable QD sockets. Just leave the damn things off or give me another Mlok slot so I can install a functional socket. Does anyone actually prefer 30 twists in their sling and I’m just missing out?

Noveske sells a QD you  have to install/drill yourself. I put mine on the right side of my stock. Took me 10 mins. It was 18 bucks on their site. Its limited rotation.

Nice on the 2 guns man.

Thanks, I’ll give those a look.

Honestly, the easiest thing for Beretta to do would be just add an a MLok slot on each side of the stock.

It would be nice if Beretta would offer a factory SBS version with 5 round tube and 14” barrel.

Not that I'm aware of, guess I'll find out the hard way. Got one during the Black Friday sale and installed it yesterday, very quick and easy.

I just took a tactical shotgun course with my UP with the pro lifter. I was not what anyone would call a shotgun expert, I found that the pro lifter made reloads much easier. Having the lifter out of the way when quickly reloading kept my thumb from getting caught when loading a shell.

I’m sure it’s fine quality but a metal hand guard with no QD sockets is a bit puzzling. Also, I want the Mlok slot as far forward as possible to get the light out front, especially since there’s 5” of barrel and mag tube in front of the hand guard.

Agreed. I also wonder why they didn’t add MLOK far enough to the rear so that you can add a match saver. The lack of sling points doesn’t really bother me. That is suck a personal preference as long as it has MLOK slots I don’t really care if it has a dedicated QD slot. Especially since very few companies use steel inserts in their QD slots and using aluminum will eventually wear out using a steel QD button. With MLOK slots, you can just replace the QD mount if it wears out from use.

I don’t use remote switches for any if the lights on my rifles but I’m going to have to on the A300.

What are you guys using for switch/pressure pad management on the factory hand guard?

It sure would be nice if there were a couple Mlok slots on the rear…

Hey guys. I have a dumb question. Totally new to all this.

It seems the recommended round for the A300 UP is Federal (LE13300) 00 Buckshot 8 Pellet Flite Control, for HD?

I found some here (this a good deal?):
Federal Ammo

So I was researching it a bit and found this article Article

And noticed this remark:
Attached File

Is the A300UP not a "Choke" Shotgun, with the "MobilChoke" system?

Pretty sure I saw the A300UP was optimized to run Federal Flite Control 00 buckshot somewhere, so I'm clearly not understanding something here.

Improved cylinder is not really considered much of a choke.
A300UP comes with a IC choke tube. I bought a Carlsons CYL tube and it tightened up my flight control patterns and made them more consistent @ 25 yards +.

Another dumb question. I am not sure how hard this stuff recoils, however, do you guys typically run something with less recoil/cheaper like #4 Buckshot or Birdshot at the range? Or do you just usually run this stuff (LE13300) at the range/loaded up, next to the bed?

On my 1301 Mod 2 I have the Surefire CSM07 on the front left mlok slots.  Works well, not too obtrusive but relatively easy to engage in a firing position.

Installed some proper limited rotation QD sockets, the front from Magpul and the rear GG&G, so I can use it with a sling.

I swear I think the accessory manufacturers bribe the gun and rail companies to use the non-limited sockets so they can sell more parts. Does ANYONE actually prefer their sling to be a tangled mess?

ETA: I will probably eventually swap out the OEM barrel clamp with something sleeker and low profile considering I don’t need the MLok slots and the QD sockets are unusable.

I got around to shooting mine this past weekend, ran 2 boxes through as per the instructions to break it in, and it operated flawlessly. I’ve had 870s for ages and this was the first semiauto shotgun that I’ve shot.

One issue that I did experience was that when I was finished shooting and walking back up to the house, I noticed that the bolt release plastic cover/sleeve was missing! I was luckily able to find it in the grass when I went back to my range. I’m not sure if it wasted seated properly from the factory or if the recoil dislodged it. I see there are aftermarket solutions if this happens again.

The other thing that I had happen was when reloading… I didn’t insert a shell into the tube far enough and it popped back over the lifter with a round already chambered. I racked the bolt back, ejecting the chambered round and loading the one I didn’t seat in the tube, and then finished reloading the tube. I can see how that might throw me off in a stressful situation but perhaps not with enough practice. I think the Pro Lifter would prevent this from happening?

The pro lifter  should take care of this problem.  If you look around you can sometimes find them on sale.  There are a few you tube videos on how to install them.  I got one and it works really well for me.  I had it when a took a tactical shotgun course and it really seemed to help!!!  I highly recommend it.

The GGG mount finally arrived and I got the RM06 installed. The mount is nice and clean but I’m not sure I love how low it sits. I’ve got six pistols with RMRs and all have a lower 1/3 cowitness. Same with the flip up irons on my rifles with EOTechs and MROs.

Target focused, absolute cowitness with a ghost ring and that winged front sight is a bit cluttered.

Does anyone make a RMR mount for the A300 that’s a tad higher?

I’m going to try and blackout that fiber optic for starters and see if that helps.

I use a 17 dollar UTG pro RMR low mount right on top of the factory pic mount.

Way better head position than all the direct receiver mounts.

And the mount is incredibly well made, regardless of price, and I say that as a badger/spuhr type guy.

It feels a little smoother, especially on double taps and rapid fire and shot seems to pattern a little more consistently at longer ranges.

Ran into the same problem I had when I mounted an RMR to my 1301. I tried the GG&G and the Scalarworks Sync 02. The SW mount was a little better but still not great. I ended up moving to the Aimpoint ACRO P2. This sits slightly higher and helps clean up the sight picture. Right now I am using the Mesa Tactical ACRO mount with the side saddle which seems to be fine as well.

Reptila Corp makes a riser for the RMR intended for their ROF mounts. You could try the 2.5mm riser and see if that helps or it might be too much. I don’t know on the A300.

How do you like the GG&G LifeSaver?

I don’t know what you’re saying. Do you mean match saver? If so it’s made by Briley, I like theirs because it is adjustable for cant and the edges are smoothed out.

I checked out the “Marine Raider” version at my LGS today. I didn’t like the camo finish at all but I’m now obsessed with putting a bayonet lug on mine.

What are you guys using for switch/pressure pad management on the factory hand guard?

It sure would be nice if there were a couple Mlok slots on the rear…

I drilled some holes in the handguard so I could put a small zip tie around the cable right behind the pressure pad and another one farther down the cable. Thought about wrapping some tape over the pressure pad but the only good way to keep the tape secure involved going around the barrel which I didn't want to do. With the zip tie right behind the pad it won't go far if it pops off the Velcro.

SHOT is coming up...

...and since it's on their site I guess I can say it, there's going to be a 20 gauge A300UP released at SHOT:

...and they'll have a special color edition for launch, which I'm not sure if it's the black multicam or a tiger stripe.

Now that's nice. Great for smaller folks. It appears it has the kickoff system on the stock and a built-in QD. It comes with 13 inch pull. You can remove the spacer to get 12 inches.

I have no use for a tactical shotgun in 20 gauge but it sure would have been these useful QD locations on the stock instead of the retarded one on the bottom of the stock like the 12 gauge I bought last month. Then again, if they moved them and they are still not limited rotation, they are still useless.

I might pick one up but that is way down the line. I would consider one for my boy if he is interested. I’ve just got him started shooting.

I finally got to the range after getting the MPO-F on in November (a tad under my normal timeline of five years for gun projects). I don’t have a lot of experience with red dots.

So far I’m favorably impressed. Controls were simple. Reticle was nice and crisp. Glad I bought it.
