I had mine out for deer season again this year. Except it has the GG&G handguard that was thoroughly tested with lots of slugs and 3in buckshot and a several year old vortex venom.I got 1 1/2 deer with it. One of my kids with it in the snow. Attached File |
| It has been confirmed that the new stock for the 20 gauge UP will fit the 12. I had a friend of mine who goes to SHOT go to the Beretta Stand and ask. It was confirmed. thesis the text he just sent me: "Ben: Yes it’ll fit. They share all share the same mounting points but the receiver might not match perfect if you just swap them. We will have a model for the twelve since it’s got an adapter up top for a perfect fit." The money I would have spent for a 1301 so I could get the shorter stock will now be spent on a new stock for the 12 and I will probably get the 20 after the initial frenzy. |

When I heard about the UP300 being offered in 20 gauge my first thought was I need one. Amazingly I thought it out and decided that I have three self defense shot shotguns, 870P, 1301 Tac and 1301 comp, and I am not small of stature, not recoil shy and no one else in the house needs a 20 gauge. So I decided not to buy one. At 71 am I growing as a person, becoming rational or am I just cheap? I think it’s great that the UP300 is offered in 20 gauge and I predict it will be a big seller. It’s interesting that Remington faltered and the Italians rushed in and filled the void. Previously all we talked about on this forum was Mossberg vs Remington. Now all we talked about is Italian guns. Who would have thought. |

Added the GG&G RMRc mount and Holosun 407k I had on the shelf. I dig it so far. Also added pro lifter, new mag spring, GG&G extension cover and mlok clamp (not pictured). I'm gonna do the qd socket in the stock and put a streamlight protac on it to replace the placeholder WML and call it good. Attached File |

I just picked up an A300 this past weekend. I'm looking into mounting a light, and perhaps folks in this thread can help with some recommendations. Some quick notes: 1. Not an operator, so I don't think I need to spend $$$$ on a light. 2. Where I seem to lose the plot are with tailcaps and what switches are compatible. 3. I assume I want at least momentary on/stay on? 4. Home defense and range/light training use. Have I missed anything important? What seems to be all over the map are mounting options (both the light and the switch), tailcaps, switches, and batteries. I would think a kit with all of the parts may be easier to get all of the right parts. This Streamlight HL-X setup seems to have all of the necessary bits. Thoughts? m |

If you think that's bad, the gun itself only cost half of what I have into my 1301. If it were an A300 the gun would've only been 2/5 or so. |

Spread over three years and only on sale or EE wasn't that bad actually. Beretta will usually give you a 20% off just for visiting their website. SWVL is nice and gives you a lot of position options for compatible lights . . . still wouldn't pay list price for a hinge and a few screws though. Wouldn't hesitate to run an HL-X if I had one on hand. HL-X on sale at PA and even full price SWVL is still cheaper than an SF pro and with more light position options. |
| Yep, it’s a bitch sometimes. I’ve got a surefire m640df on mine with the pro body, surefire uee tailcap, and unity hot button for activation. The worst part was buying a ue tailcap and having a somewhat expensive light that flickers like crazy. Surefire hooked me up with the UEE, though. |

The advantages of the ProTacl HL-X are greater Candela and the remote switch (if you use it) is tethered so no plug backing out due to recoil over time. The remote switch has both momentary & constant-on buttons. The advantages of the TLR RM2 are a lockout feature, slimmer design & a remote switch that's both momentary & constant-on w/o needing 2 switches. Attached File Attached File |

I have a surefire 640DF attached to a Arisaka extended mount and the cheapest version of remote switch surefire has. I'm not even sure if I'm using the correct UEE tail cap on this one but there is no flickering. Definitely throw away the factory mag spring for a better one as the factory one is too weak, I'm using one from Nordic. This is my second A300(don't know why I sold the first one ) and on the first one I replaced the ugly plastic mag cap with one from GG&G mostly because of looks but also because the barrel clamp wouldn't stay in place. This current gun has a slightly different design to the plastic cap and the barrel clamp stays in place. It's still ugly but I haven't felt the need to replace it yet. I've opted not to install the pro lifter because I keep the gun stored with the mag tube full and a round sitting on the carrier ready to be cycled into the chamber. No optic yet for mine but it's on my radar |

I was going to use the fastback. But hand on hand a mount that worked for my Mepro MPS. I never ordered the fastback.

Finally picked up my A300 UP Yesterday. I got my Pro Lifter installed - that is slick, install was pretty simple. I just breezed thru most of this thread and have a few questions. I am getting ready to order an upgraded Mag Tube and clamp, and the two I see mentioned are: GG&G and not near as often, Nordic. I am leaning toward this Nordic over the GG&G currently. Any reason most have the GG&G over the Nordic? Also, best place to purchase? I was going to just purchase direct, however their site just re-directs to: arnzenarms.com I also have a Wolff "Tubular XP Shotgun Mag Spring 12 Gauge". From my understanding browsing thru this thread, around 14" sticking out past the mag tube is ideal? Basically we are looking for the seven 2 3/4 shells to fit with a bit of play. What I am not clear on is it best to remove the black plastic spring retaining plug or not? Thanks!

However, to fit 7 roll-crimped shells I had to remove the plastic spring retaining plug (7 star-crimped shells fit no problem). I didn't bother with changing the mag tube cover, haven't heard of any problems with the factory plastic one (ymmv). |

No problems yet. I have the same spring as you. I cut mine at 12 inches and have about 1/8th of play no more. |

Even the owner of GG&G told me on the phone that he’s gotten enough complaints about it breaking that he’s been considering a revision. |

I kept the plastic plug on mine. I got the metal mag tube but don't use the clamp. I took a tactical shotgun course and the instructor didn't use the clamp on his 1301 either. I figure it is safe not to use it. Don't think I will bend the mag tube. YMMV though. |

Just ordered the LTT Fastback to go with a 509T Hopefully that combo works out good. Per LTT: "We have found that the Fastback optic mount works with both the 1301 Tactical and A300 Ultima Patrol without any issues with the back up irons. The Fastback provides a lower 1/3 cowitness with the Holosun 509T." |

I picked up a near new A300 Ultimate Patrol 12 Ga a month ago and am in the process of of break in and familiarizing myself with the manual, maintenance and operation. As expected it runs everything I feed it 100%, no drama. LOVE this gun! What I’m wondering is if the 20 Ga is out and about and if anyone yet has their hands one to report on feel, reliability, etc. I know this is the 12 Ga thread but it seems silly to start a new one. |
