Edit: might as well make it official. Figured would be easier for people to keep track of their orders, shipping, any issues, and updates. I know some earlier threads got locked and I beleive TEAM has a thread, but I haven't seen a "regular" post. If there is then I guess let this 1 get achieved ![]() But if not, I ordered the AZR-15M2 on the 18th. Received it today. Kicking myself for not getting stuff done on Sunday and I would have been able to go test it today. Guess ill have to wait for the weekend. As far as install, it was almost a perfect drop in. Mine did come with the disconnector as well. Is this 1 suppose to be modified? Or modified from AZR? It looked just like all my other disconnectors. In the few factory lowers I tried *seekins, geiselle, POF, Anderson* they all mostly worked with me just dropping it in. *just alittle tight on the trigger. My 80% lowers the triggers were 100% solid trigger when pulling back the bcg. I took a dremel and polished the bottom of the part that touches the disconnector and all my factory lowers were exactly how he *AZR* showed the trigger play should be in his YouTube videos. And in my 80% lowers they acted like the factory (tight but had a tough of movement). I did order a 3 position version the 24th. I figure it will be here this weekend or Monday next week. |

Does anyone know if JD takes orders on the new 3 pos via a prepaid shipping label and money order like he does on the 2 pos units? The online form doesn't mention that model but maybe the buyer can make a notation as to why there's a higher amount of $$$ included. I could try to call but hate bothering him. Figured I'd post here first. Maybe he'll eventually chime in on this thread? |

These look really cool and I'm trying to talk myself out of spending more money right now. If I didn't already see reviews here, I'd be really suspicious of that website. Is the point of the "mail-in order form" to avoid having your name on a customer list somewhere? I'm imagining someone opening the envelope and looking at the order form and money order, selecting the requested items off the shelf, writing the customer address on a box and dropping it in the mail, and hitting "cash sale" on the cash register. No digital file of customers names, addresses, and what they purchased that can be used later after the next administration decides these are MGs or some other nonsense. |

I have an original, one of his pre-modded versions and a three position. The original was a bit of work getting running, primarily because I didn't read the instructions very well before going to town on the leg with a dremel. The pre-modded one was great. I put it in my AR-V and everything hand cycles perfectly. The three position is going in one of my SBR's soon. I expect it to go in as smoothly as the pre-modded version. Attached File |

My set-up was an SBR'd McKay Enterprises lower and an all Colt 10.3" MK18 Mod 0 upper. The barrel is a factory Colt 10.3" with .070 gas port and I was using an H2 buffer with Colt carbine spring. It was used both suppressed with a KAC NT4 QDSS PRG low backpressure can and unsuppressed. I checked the semi-auto trigger pull weight with my Lyman digital trigger gauge and it was around 4.5-5.5 pounds. It's really nothing to write home about in semi and all of my rifles normally have Geissele SSA or G2S triggers in them. Function was perfect. This was my first experience with an FRT and it worked really well. In use I couldn't feel the trigger resetting against my finger. Shooting bursts was very controllable. Most of my rifles are Colts and this won't work in those lowers due to the sear block in the lower. The uppers will work though. My plan is to build up a PSA M4A1 marked lower I have on hand. The Safe/Semi/Auto markings will be a nice touch. Once the $0 tax stamps take effect (I think in January) I'm going to Form 1 SBR the lower. I'm not going to build an upper for it, and instead it will be my FRT lower and I can pull the Colt uppers off and move them to this lower when I want to shoot with the FRT. Sounds like a great plan. I bought 3 of those PSA M4A1 lowers. At $39.99 it's a great deal. I will Form 1 all of them if Jan ever gets here. |

My issue with the AZ Regulator is simple; every other FRT is either a self contained "cassette" or a device that does not change the basic semi-auto operation of the gun. If I remove a Super Safety lever and cam, the gun functions as a semi auto. It has no safety which isn't smart but no out of battery fire condition will be caused not a gun that can fire more than 1 shot per pull of the trigger Same with the Atrius, and soon to be ARC Fire from AS designs. Rarebreed, even the OG one, is a cassette and if removed leaves a gun that isn't in an unsafe condition. It's a dead gun. The AZ Regulator if you lose or remove the device (no matter how stupid that would be) leaves a gun that is dangerous or potentially illegal in the 3rd position. Sure a RDIAS with multiple hosts does the same, and has the same pitfalls. |

https://arizonaregulator.com/azr-15-frt-tech-manual/ I'm sorry but if you buy this, and install this into your gun....You're an idiot. Scroll down to the setup instructions. For those too lazy to click the link.... Perform Function Check AZR-15 Method 3 Instructions: See Mil-Spec 1 with no Disconnector Dedicated Forced Reset Trigger Function Only I'm gonna break this down Barney style. He's telling you to REMOVE THE DISCONNECTOR SPRING OR THE DISCONNECTOR ENTIRELY. Know what happens when you improperly install, or omit the disconnector from an AR-15 trigger? Here's some links to ARFCOM thread on this very topic. https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/What_if_I_forgot_the_disconnector_spring_/4-331622/ https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar-15/Disconnector_spring_installed_upside_down___So_what_/4-295924/ This device is ACTING as the disconnector bypassing or eliminating the original one in your trigger. So class....if we no longer have a properly functioning disconnector what happens if this device is REMOVED from the firearm?....anyone?......anyone? If you don't know, chatGPT sure as shit does. 1. Role of the Disconnector Spring in an AR-15 The disconnector spring is a small but crucial component in the AR-15 fire control group. Its functions are: Hold the hammer during cycling When the bolt carrier moves rearward after a shot, the disconnector catches the hammer if the trigger is still held. Ensure one shot per trigger pull The spring provides tension so the disconnector reliably holds the hammer until the trigger is released. Trigger reset The spring helps push the disconnector into position so that the hammer can re-engage the sear when the trigger is released. 2. What Happens if the Disconnector Spring is Missing Without the spring: Hammer may not be caught The disconnector cannot reliably hold the hammer while the bolt cycles. Potential "slam fire" When the bolt closes, the hammer can follow it forward and strike the firing pin without a separate trigger pull. This can cause unintended multiple discharges effectively uncontrolled automatic fire. Trigger reset failure The trigger may not properly reset, leaving the firearm inoperable until manually manipulated. Out-of-battery risks The hammer could strike the firing pin before the bolt is fully locked, creating a dangerous out-of-battery discharge that could damage the firearm or injure the shooter. Unreliable operation The gun may misfire or fire unpredictably, creating safety hazards even during normal handling. 3. Key Safety Takeaways The disconnector spring is non-negotiable for safe semi-auto operation. Removing or weakening it turns a standard AR-15 into a highly unsafe firearm, with potential for unintentional discharge and severe injury. Even if a firearm still fires, its timing and control are compromised, making it extremely dangerous. In short: missing disconnector spring = unsafe firearm, slam fire risk, trigger malfunction, and possible out-of-battery discharge. EDIT: Realize I didn't include what happens if you omit the disconnector ENTIRELY from the trigger. What Happens if the Disconnector is Omitted Continuous firing while holding the trigger With no disconnector to catch the hammer, if you hold the trigger down, the hammer may follow the bolt carrier forward repeatedly, striking the firing pin each time the bolt cycles. This effectively turns the firearm into a makeshift machine gun, firing as fast as the bolt cycles. Slam fires become guaranteed Every shot cycles the bolt, and the hammer is free to fall without the trigger being released. There is no mechanism to stop the hammer, making uncontrolled firing almost certain. Trigger reset is lost Without the disconnector, there's nothing to push the hammer back into the sear correctly after each shot. The trigger may not reset, leaving the gun partially "stuck" in a firing state. Out-of-battery risk The hammer can strike the firing pin before the bolt fully locks, potentially causing catastrophic failure or injury. Unpredictable operation The firearm will fire whenever the bolt moves, meaning any manipulation of the bolt can discharge a round, even if the trigger is not pulled. |

The disco spring removal in method 1 & 2 is just for tuning the length of the lower cam leg for those installations that require fitting. The 2-position drop in device doesn’t alter the semi-auto configuration / function when removed (method 1 & 2 installs). Those who wanted the 3-position model seem blinded to the rapid conversion functionality and clean utility of the original regulator reset device. Not sure what triggers require method 3. Agree that removing the disco seems ill advised for a device so easily removed. |

Method 3 is 100% asking for trouble - and the fact you have manufacture of this device saying, "Nah bro it's g2g, this is an approved method of installation." is asinine. |

Yes its definitely important to know the legal implications of firearm accessory purchases. Anyone can buy a less than 16" barreled upper and put it on a Rifle lower. Or they can add a stock to their AR pistol they bought from their buddy or FTF sale. Thats instant illegal SBR. The only disclaimer is "Know the NFA rules" on the site. |

You may want to look in the mirror before calling people here idiots. Either you didn't completely read the instructions, your reading comprehension is poor, or you're intentionally stirring up trouble. With method 1 and 2 the disconnector/spring is only removed to set up the gun. You replace it before firing. With method 3 yes there is a risk if you don't follow the instructions and use the gun without the AZR installed. But he clearly states that method is only to be used in dedicated set-ups. |

So let me get this straight 1. If you remove the disconnector he sells with the 3 Pos or any other model, youll get slam fire if lts left out? Also why would anyone not put it back in after dry fire fitment/safety/function check? 2. If you have the 3 pos and leave out his “regulator” youd still have a safe/ semi firearm albeit with a 5.5lb trigger as long as the selector isnt pushed all the way to forced reset. Ive asked some knowledgeable members as im always trying to learn and ive gotten some different answers…… Not debating anyones knowledge im generally curious why someone would leave the disconnector out other than getting it to function safely at set up, and am still uncertain what would happen if his 3 pos is fired in forced reset with the selector in that mode with the Regulator device removed? Thanks for any answers as always. |

This can lead to nothing, out of battery detonation, or firing more than one round per trigger pull. |

This is getting very confusing. The website says to pick the AZ Regulator that fits your trigger and just drop it in and go shoot. Now some say it needs to be modified to fit. Others say it drops in and good to go. I want a 3 position selector and some people say just use a regular M16 3 position selector. Others say you need to modify the M16 selector. This is getting very confusing for many of us. I wish someone would buy a unit and try a standardM16 selector and tell us if it works. I am interested in the AZ Regulator that fits a LaRue MBT trigger. |

The 2 position only uses the drop-in while the 3 position is a complete parts set. The stuff regarding the M16 selector is for the 3 position. The stuff about making sure you have the right one for your trigger system is the 2 position. |

When you look at his product for sale page, the three position model is at the bottom of the page It is pictured with the trigger and other parts required. It's just under $300 once shipping is figured in. The MBT compatible model is two position. Safe or forced reset. It pops in easily and will work for the vast majority of people without fitting or modification. Unfortunately the MBT can't be made three position with the regulator products. The AS Designs ARC safety might work and the Atrius Dev safety may work to adapt it to three position. But I haven't personally checked. |

Removing the disconnector and doing the trigger tap thing isn't necessary to function check in my experience. --- For those of you looking at the mail-in form, I wouldn't be overly confident that you won't have a paper trail. The ATF obtained Rare Breed customer info from postal records. Not trying to dissuade anyone from buying one (I think proliferating FRTs is important) but it might not be as secure as you think. |

It uses any standard AR-15 selector. If you want it to work with an MBT buy the one with MBT in the model # 3 position is drop in ready, but you must use his trigger that comes with it. You can switch out the M16 selector that comes with it for any mil-spec ambi M16 selector. |

What is risky? Is his device somehow illegal? I'm a bit confused over all this. Yeah, I get that he is a bit...um, abrasive, but what transpired to cause the staff to lock the threads and him to suddenly leave the site? If someone knows, I think it's only fair that we are told the details. I see he has on his site that he is no longer associated with arfcom. I've been following along and based on all the reviews and discussions was leaning toward one of his 3-positions due to reviews and price. The whole FRT/FRS scene is turning out to be quite the sh*tshow... |

If there is a concern, if the site admits to the concern, then it could be seen as them being complicit and a target. Kind of a Catch-22 from a business standpoint. |
