Conversely, Noveske jumped on board 300BLK with barrels, uppers, and full guns available even before commercial ammo was released. Glad DBMG is around to convert so I don't have to wait on LMT anymore. |

| Does anyone have photos of their coolest setup for transporting their array of barrels/bolts for their MRP? I'm at four barrels and counting, with two different BCG's so far. Anyone making a barrel pouch similar to what you use for open end wrenches, etc.? I have a 240/249 barrel bag but that's only good for two barrels. |

Haven't posted new photos in a while. The rains out here in the south west make for some interesting lighting to take photos in. Added a few minor enhancements. Finally got around to getting raped at Adams Arms for a couple springs for 15$ shipping. turned down barrel? i wish thinking of sending mine to adco to be fluted, does it balance the gun out better? how much weight do you think you knocked off? |

I do hope they throw development and offerings into high gear. But... the F ing chambers are still SPC I... retarded. |

| quick question, I'm down range right now and planning my next rifle, also my first to utilize a suppressor. So question being, in rifle lengthed mrp how much barrel do i need to go straight from rail system to aac m4-2000 with little to no gap? any input would be greatly appreciated. |
|
You can't have "no gap" because the suppressor has to have some play in the mount fore and aft. You should look at what caliber/load your barrel will be in and work from what length/twist is optimal for that load, rather than cosmetics (don't succumb to the ninja-itis that is prevalent on the internet). Besides, if you're planning on running a factory LMT barrel, you'll be relegated to certain lengths anyway.
I run a 12" g.i. barrel/bolt in 6.8 with an M4-2000 and there's about one to 1.5" of naked barrel in front of the handguard with that setup. My piston 5.56 barrel is 10.5" and the gas block/piston thingy fills that space and leaves less than an inch behind the suppressor once mounted (again, another M4-2000). In case you don't already know it, the M4-2000's body doesn't really go past the back edge of the blackout mount, at least on the latest generation of mounts. I think some of the really old Yankee Hill produced mounts had deeper shoulders cut into the body that actually covered part of the barrel, and they would protrude behind the can slightly, but I'm not sure on dimensions of all that and whatnot. |
|
First, and most importantly, an M42000 will not fit inside the diameter of the MRP rail. Second, even if it did, that suppressor has a mechanical latch that must be depressed as the suppressor is unscrewed, so you would have to take the barrel out to unmount the suppressor, which, while possible, would be practically undesirable. And since you can't change the rail system on an MRP, I don't see how it's possible to accomplish what you asked.
Yes, you can now have just about any barrel made to fit the MRP. I just received my Noveske 10.5" .300 barrel back from DBMG for conversion and it fits my MRP perfectly. Nice job, too. I'll be having others done in short order. I have mounted suppressors under the handguards but using the PRI carbon free float tube (large enough ID to fit the suppressor inside without clearance issues) and they have to be M41000 or the older 762SD without the mechanical latch. Don't make the mistake of assembling an upper like that with a "latch" type can... You may find yourself hacksawing off a handguard to get the can off. |

Going to keep the bead blast or coat it? |
| thats just the sort of information i was looking for, that said, isn't that the joy of the mrp, i could easily have a barrel just for this purpose and not really need to worry much about removing the can without the barrel itself. So you say the m4-1000 could fit under the rail? and if so what length barrel to have it barely recess? |

So you say the m4-1000 could fit under the rail? and if so what length barrel to have it barely recess? Are there any suppressors that fit inside the hand guard? It is a benefit that the entire barrel can be removed and hence allow you to attach and remove a suppressor via barrel removal. I think a 7" or 8" 300 Blackout with a long DeGroat suppressor (assuming its skinny enough) inside either an CQB or Rifle Length MRP would be very cool. Ill have to go measure max diameter that will fit and compare to suppressor stats. One of the benefits of the MRP is that the rail not too fat or oblong but this efficient design may disallow most suppressors to fit underneath. Perhaps it would work for a 9mm set up with a 9mm can. ETA: I just pulled my barrel and measured... looks like a suppressor of between 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 diameter will fit under the hand guard. So 1 1/4 DeGroats might work for 9mm or subsonic 300BLK (have to ask if they will stand up to supersonic 300BLK). |

As stated before, you can fit one of the AAC rifle cans (M41000, M42000, 762SD) inside a P.R.I. carbon free float tube (the same one found on the MK12 MOD 0, but that forearm cannot be fitted to an MRP by any means I'm aware of. Here's some crappy iPhone pics of the 10.5" Noveske .300 barrel with an old model 762SD installed: http://gallery.me.com/mkellett/100072/01.jpg?derivative=medium&source=web.jpg&type=medium&ver=12933199710001 http://gallery.me.com/mkellett/100072/03/web.jpg?ver=12933199750001 Quick question, I'm not seeing the 10.5" 300 barrel on Noveske's site, just the 10" barrel, are they gonna be manufacturing the 10.5" barrel again? |

Noveske confirmed more recent 300FB chambers are within 300BLK spec. I have not read anything to indicate why they decided to go with 10" rather than 10.5" for the new run. Perhaps since they are also doing 8" now it might have something to do with how many barrels they can get out of a long blank (could be wrong). |
| thanks for the pic, that said i could send my barrel to be modified so that a can is just about flush with the rail, a few mm of space to keep it off the rail, and there should be no issues. Or am i mistaken? If possible what kind of length would i be looking for in a barrel on a rifle length mrp? |

Attached is a pic directly from Surefire's website illustrating an FA556-212 can mounted on an MRP with 10.5" DI barrel. As you can see it is pretty damn close to being flush with the business end of the rail. I have been waiting on a Form 3 to clear on one of these cans for 5 weeks and then I get to wait on the Form 4; it's killing me. I plan on running my can with my 12" piston MRP upper but i'd also like to pick up the 10.5" DI barrel just because of the picture below.
