I have an opportunity to buy a “choco chip peq15” 2009 dom, wondering if anyone knows anything about these? Units that used them, time frame (is it correct for a block 2?), etc. if anyone has pics of them in use that would be awesome Peq in question: Edit: dom corrected |

I ended up picking up that choco peq, a guy in the next town over from me had it so I was able to go and take a look at it in person and have it mounted that same day. After screwing around with the positioning of the light, LAM, and tape switches all day I finally got it all put together how I like it, and got everything tied down. The barrel nut isn’t torqued all the way yet so the rail isn’t screwed together and the 4 prong isn’t timed yet. I’m waiting on a larger vise to come in in a few days to get it finished, I also have an elcan coming in that same day, then this build will be complete!  |

| What kind of build/time period would an SU-237 be appropriate on? And why were they taken out of service, just not as good as the Elcan and they didn't want two different scopes in service? |

Attached File I'd assume that the SU-230 and SU-237 were for the same contract or at least similar requirements and the elcan simply won out. u/Tanodized can probably start his own thread regarding the su-237. |

Is the black EXPS3 correct or are they all tan? I know black has been seen on the URGI, so I assume it’s kosher for the block Is and IIs? |

Depends on if you want issued correct or in the wild correct, I’ve seen black exps3-1 itw for sure, guys like to run the exps 3-1 because the single dot with no ring is better for passive shooting, I’m sure people have also wanted to run eotechs and not been issued them and bought their own 3-0 in black. As far as I’m aware the issued ones are all FDE tho. Edit: I’m only talking about for block 2, I didn’t notice that you had said block 1 as well. If you want an Eotech for a block 1 it would have to be a 551 or pre 2009 552 |

Apparently it isn’t, I’m going for a later build based on stuff that’s already in my parts box. |

I only got out of the army a few years ago and the majority of optics I saw in the 82nd were comp M2, comp M4, comp M4S, and ta31. I did on occasion see eotechs which I’m assuming were unit purchases, and were pretty much exclusively 552s, although my sample size is pretty limited and I’m sure guys had exps as either unit or individual purchase. Edit: also wanted to add that besides marine recon using the ergo quad rail extensions, I did see a few floating around on guys rifles in the 82nd. Not super common but they were around. Notably (to me) my 1sg used one |
