Blue force Gear Vickers slings with the standard side sling mount. These dudes have to be security forces. |

May not be correct term but you knew what I was referring to. This popped into my head for some reason.   Prefered Nomenclature It is still a weird set up. For what they do I’m not sure the LPVO is the right choice. It is almost as if they got the cool guy toys but are still using their older rifles. It’s like racing tires on a tractor. |

This setup is pretty standard now a days as the Big army has adopted their own version of the sig tango to replace the ACOG. The Air Force simply piggy backed off of it. | I have 2 Remington contract SOCOM uppers I'm looking to get out their plastics HG's and into some RAS's for a correct 1.5 build. Is the secondary market the only place to find the RAS now? Has KAC stopped making them altogether? I'm tempted, against my better judgement, to just get a Troy rail. Would that be a suitable stand-in? |

Tanodized A.R.M.S. #40L, part of the BIS II contract that got canned in late 2006. This one was part of a unit purchase sometime between 2008 and 2010. Rare piece of SOPMOD history, first and third-hardest step towards an alternate history Block II.       |

This was my first AR, it's a Colt 2013 config. LE prefix 6920 purchased in 2016. I replaced the 16" barrel with a Colt 14.5 SOCOM profile, PRI gassbuster big latch, Colt side sling mount, KAC rail, and Geissele SSA. https://imgur.com/a/bCtfvBj |

Hey gents sorry if this has been answered before but I wasn’t about to scour 200 pages to find out. I’m starting a new build; a 14.5” with a ta01nsn/ piggyback doctor, the barrel I’m using has a FSB and currently an A2 birdcage. I understand the fsp versions of the ris 2 were out of issue with usasoc around 2015 (IIRC) and I’d rather do a more current build but I’m a little hesitant to cut down the FSB. So my questions are: 1) do you/ did you ever see ta01s on non-FSB block 2s or had they completely fallen out of favor/ use by then. 2) were A2 birdcages still in use at that point at all or just nt4 and sf4p Thanks in advance!

Don't think any Block IIs would have used an A2 flash hider, that was more for the general infantry Thanks for the info! It’s a ta01, from what I understood about acogs in use by the army is that the ta01s were issued within usasoc, and the ta31s were on the conventional side, at some point the ta01s being phased out by the elcan but I didn’t know when. I didn’t know the ecos was actually issued. That being the case would it be better to do an FSP ris2? Do you know if there were any other surefire muzzle devices seen in the wild besides the 4p? |

What do you want to clone? There are NO absolutes! I've still have SF NG with odd combos ie A2/NT4 FH on their URGs 10.3" as they haven't swapped to 11.5" URGIs. Unit armorers waiting on more SF4Ps. There are a few TA01NSNs floating around theater on Mk18 Mod 0s. Just remember using a 14.5" with A2 or NT4 FH generally will need to SBR the gun. Yes, 2015 I still hand 20th SF in Kuwait with TA01NSN on non FSB Block 2s as they were still waiting on their ELCANS. |
