I'm a LPVO fan but I don't love them for these builds. The eye box is pretty tight, at least on my vortexes. FOV and large eye box are important for the IAR imo. I went with an acog. Red dot plus magnifier is probably good too, but I've never used that setup on anything. |

Arms Unlimited has Colt IAR 16" uppers on sale if you wanted something different: 16" IAR upper As near as I can tell, the barrel is essentially a normal barrel? If you go this route, you might want to grab a barrel wrench while you are at it. You might need it, someday. They still have 11.5s, too, also on sale: 11.5" IAR upper wrench |

Helping my brother build his lite-RPK. Settled on a K-spec KAK chrome lines upper enhanced BCG, midlength, a5 buffer system, and PRS-lite stock. It all shipped today, so we'll update this weekend with the build.

| Question for those running a M60 bipod. I got the adaptor from the seller here. Between the finish on the bipod and the finish on the adaptor, the fitment is very tight. The adaptor won't go all the way into the adaptor unless I use hammer it in. Should I just grease it and go? Or remove some of the finish on both prices until is slides on? |

I thought they were a wonderful concept when they came out, but haven't heard too many reviews since. @spydercomonkey so far, 1500 rounds and no issues with them. I typically load them to just 50 rounds (since my bulk fiocchi comes in 50rd boxes) but have loaded several to the full 53 with no issues. I have not have a single mag related malfunction, and my only malfunctions thus far with this build have been FTFires with light primer strikes, and that was an ammo issue. |

Awesome, that's great to hear. I'm very tempted to get a Quattro Lower + Super Duty Heavy Barrel upper... |

I have a couple of USGI Vietnam-era M-3 Grease Gun magazine pouches that I use. They were designed to hold 8 M3 Grease Gun mags in a single pocket (not the individual cell pouches) and were issued to tank crews. I can hold up to 4 PMAG 40s, or 2 ATI 60s in each one. I can even fit a PMAG 40 in between the 2 ATI 60s if I want. I think I paid less than $20 per pouch, but I bought them local. Online vendors seem to want more, though you can find them for around $25 if you shop around. For D60 drums, I store them in the small MTM ammo cans which are sold four to a plastic tray. They're primarily back up ammo sources, intended for resupply, so having them in plastic cans, rather than in pouches carried on body, isn't an issue for me. |

I've never seen those. I'm not exactly sure what I want yet so looking for inspiration. I think something belt mounted would be good due to lack of room on a PC. Bandolier is easy but I have an aversion to gear flopping around. Still need to do some thinking. I think I'm out on D60s for anything other than a starter mag or for a stationary position. Too bulky for that extra 20 rounds. |

I always thought a neat setup was D60 in rifle + 6x40rd, for a clean 300rd (1/2 a SAW loadout), without being excessively cumbersome or expensive. Just gotta get a big enough dump pouch to toss an empty D60 into. |

Just gotta get a big enough dump pouch to toss an empty D60 into. That sounds like a good standard loadout. Maybe a little light; more 40s in a pack to replenish would be good. Empty 60 goes in a pack or is ditched. No way I'm running around with that fatty slapping the back of my leg every step.

| FYI, a MOLLE 200-round SAW Gunner Pouch will hold two D-60s if you put one rightside up and the other upside down. |

I can't justify any more, though, especially now that I'm into belt-fed and the size of my feeding device is only limited by the number of links I possess. (And, for the record, I currently have 5,600 or so rounds linked and ready to go.) |

You could have the standard loadout being D60 in gun + 6x40's on a chest rig, with the option of a mag bag / bandolier with another 6x40. https://www.saviorequipment.com/products/rifle-magazine-pouch I'd be worried about reaching cookoff temp firing more than 300rd in a hurry though. |
