This thread is solely for questions on the value of complete AR-15 rifles. There is a thread in the Uppers and Lowers forum that is solely for questions on the value of lowers/uppers/parts.
Uppers and Lowers Appraisal Thread If you can offer a logical price value, please do so. Please do not turn this into an argumentative thread or a general discussion thread. We hope this will be beneficial for this section of the forums. If you have questions please PM one of the mods. Thanks! |

Hey folks. I am talking to a fellow about a trade and wanted to get your opinion. He has an unfired Stag Arms SA2 which he purchased in 2008. Everything I’ve read indicates that these were retailing at around $800 before the Scamdemic. I would be trading my all original blued Colt Mark IV 1911 .45 (90-95% which was manufactured in 1972. After research and talking with various “experts”, I’m setting the trade value of the Colt at $1500. Not really sure about that but it seems pretty obvious that some “boot” should be involved in the trade.
Anyway, any opinions on the value of the Stag would be much appreciated. |

I might have an opportunity to sell my HBAR tomorrow. The chance came up kinda out of the blue and don't think I can research it decently by then, so I thought I'd ask hive what a fair price for it might be.
Its a clean (light scratches on the stock only) Pre-Ban Colt Sporter Match HBAR, Ser# 0832xx, no bayo lug, with flash hider, bought new in '94. I have between 2000- 3000 rnds. through it, so bbl probably needs replaced for match accuracy, but I'm not good enough with irons to really tell. If I could get a price... for sale in a pre-ban state, (through FFL) ...and a price locally in Indiana, it would really help me out. The sale will be Face to Face locally, but don't want to give it away if I can make a few more bucks and put an AR in the hands of some poor, needy soul in a eastern "pre-ban only" state. TIA |

Got this HK416C build in a trade package. Shot it some and realized I prefer my DI guns so I'm considering off loading it. I'm not sure the value since I got it in a package deal and I'm not familiar with HK416 pricing. Most of the stuff I see is just components or factory HK416 uppers. As shown, it does have a few dings but nothing crazy. It consists of the following parts
-MR556 Upper Receiver -MR556 BCG -HK416C 9in barrel assembly -Vented gas block with sling loops -HK416 Mlok rail -Radian Raptor LT CH -I'll probably swap the muzzle device to a Surefire closed tine FH to sell it. It currently has a Griffin Armament flash hider. -Brownells BRN-4 lower -Geissele HK416 trigger -UCIW Buffer tube -Heavybuffers Heavy uciw buffer -SBA3 brace cut down ![]() Only interested in the value for the gun, not the optic. |

Can I shoot 5.56 out of these even though it’s stamped 223? They sold me 556 when I bought the gun, but I’m doubting that I can put 556 through it. Edit: not sure how to embed images here. Sorry. View Quote I'd be careful about shooting 5.56 if it were some new M855a1 EPR, too high of pressure, but realisticaly, 5.56 target ammo isn't going to damage a rifle that is in good working order. There are some great articles online about THE ACTUALLY REASON .223 differs from 5.56 and it isn't what most people think. 1) more powder in 5.56, higher pressure 2)and the dumbest, 5.56 is bigger. It's all about case size and chamber size. There is less room in your .223 chamber than your 5.56. Loading a slightly larger 5.56 shell in the .223 chamber MIGHT, theoretically can, cause increases in chamber pressure. But everyone needs to understand, this is not due to increases in powder in the .223 cartridge, but rather the .223 chamber is tighter. This is solely designed to increase accuracy. The concern should be do I have enough room to allow the shell to expand and contract properly. Physically check them. If you drop a round of 5.56 in your .223 chamber gently, it should come back out rather easily. The real head trip is that .223 Cartridges in a .223 Chamber can run as high or higher than a comparable 5.56 round in a 5.56 Chamber. That all depends on your ammo and more importantly, Your specific chamber size and or barrel Quality control is key. Lastly, you could have a Smith or even Armorer size the chamber see where it actually stands. Second to last, and I'm not a Colt Guru, but I don't recall seeing really any Colt AR's marked .223, might be fairly rare? |

About $1200-$1400 right now with the right buyer, given the current state of affairs. Some info on .223 vs 5.55 NATO HERE Eta: The .223 caliber designation on the lower receiver is not "rare". |

I have a Colt AR-15 A2 HBAR Sporter. Serial # 215***
Barrel is stamped C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR. It’s in very nice condition. I would like to know a little about this rifle from all you experts. According to Colt’s website it was manufactured in 1972. No sear block and I think it may be a R6600, but not sure. Is this a sought after rifle and if so, what is a good asking price? Is it crazy accurate with the heavy barrel? Thanks so much for your time. |

Was at the pawn shop today and came across an older rollmarked Colt Law Enforcement Carbine. They wanted $1,700 for it. What do you think of the price? Good, bad, or an investment piece since CZ owns Colt now? It's unfired also (I checked the BCG and the barrel...squeaky clean).

Local guy has a real clean Colt Sporter HBAR.
Serial is MH 027XXX. I think it was made around 1990. No box, just the rifle and 1 colt 20 round mag. But very clean. The prices seem to be all over the place the past year. Can anyone give me a current ball park value range on this? I would like to pick it up but at a fair price. Thanks. |

Hey guys, got this in a trade and was hoping to find a price and maybe a buyer. It’s a Surefire FH556-217A “SCAR L”. It’s 1/2x28 and basically the gen 1 four prong for the Scar 16.
It works as should just a little worn. More pictures if you need them, thanks for any help! https://imgur.com/a/VLY8wH9 |

Thinking about selling this one. BCM lower with Doublestar Nitride barreled upper. 5.56. Probably no more than 300 rounds through it. I bought it back from a friend that I know never shot it.
I'm not giving up the MOE handguard or B5 Bravo stock with it. It will have standard fat M4 handguards and waffle stock when I sell it. Of course I'm not giving up the optic either but I will leave the Magpul MBUS. ![]() |

It's not looking like this thread gets much action but figured I'd throw something out. This is my wife's LE6920-OEM1 2013 Configuration rifle with original box in hand. Less than 500 rounds. She has her eye on a Geissele 14.5" OD Super Duty for $1700 NIB locally and I feel like her Colt could possibly get 60-70% of the way there. We'll probably get the Geissele no matter what and sell the Colt only if it's a net gain based on what we've put into it.
Lower: "M4 CARBINE" and LE45XXXX serial number QR code No keyhole on lower (I had another 6920 from that time period that had the keyhole forge mark on the ejection side of the magwell) "SAFE/FIRE" rolled on both sides Upper: "C" stamped upper with Brass Aluminum (square) forge mark "C" stamped carrier with "MPC" bolt Cage code barrel Modifications: Dremeled down the FSB and installed a MI free float quad rail Magpul OD furniture QD receiver endplate The sights, optic, light, IR laser, and SF3P would not be included (I'd re-install an A2 with new crush washer). So, what does the hive mind think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Where would I go to get an appraisal on a NIB blue label Colt Law Enforcement Carbine LE6920 ? Any ideas ? Thanks

How much is a 16" Adams Arms 5.45 piston upper worth? Its their railed gas block kit with an original Magpul MOE handguard. Would come with an original style C Products mag and some Hornady 5.45 as well. I think it has around 2000 rounds or so through it. Not sure if its worth selling or changing it to 5.56 and just having a fun piston upper instead.

I recently ran across a Colt A2 Sporter II and called colt to get any history they could provide. It’s an R6500 from 1985 in 95% or better condition. I do not have a box. I can give more details if needed but curious as to a rough value and whether or not it’s worth getting an archive letter from Colt as my understanding these aren’t quite as common as other models. Any help is greatly appreciated.
