No ZM Weapons?

It does not belong in this thread since this thread os for PISTON ARs not DI ARs.

ZM weapons LR-300 IS a piston AR

No it isnt!

Then what exactly would you call it?

Direct Impingement
It still uses gas to operate. It has a long gas tube ala carrier key that if I remeber correctly has a recoil spring over it. This replaces the buffer and spring so you can use a foldig stock. Not a bad weapon but not a piston driven one either.

I'll be damned, I thought that they were piston operated guns.

What is the advantage of the ZM rifle over a "traditional" DI gun?

For whatever reason ZM claims its a cleaner running system. Im not sure how ? Other than that you can use a folding stock instead of the telescoping type.

The ability to use a side folding stock

Good guns...but not worth the money just for a side folder IMHO.

Very nice,  interested to know how it compares to your POFs.  As I am about to buy one as well to compliment my POF and Bushy Piston

Finally! Some pics of your new LWRC.
It looks like a nice rifle setup, but damn it man, we need some full rifle pics with a clear side view from tip to stern!!

A little outdoor shot wouldn't be bad either.
Thanks for posting some photo's either way though SRTM4. Enjoy your new piston AR.

I love both of my POFs. I dont have a bad thing to say about them. They are a tad nose heavy but are built very robust. I have not fired enough rounds through the LWRC to really compare it to the POFs. I also have an EOTECH on the LWRC. Its not going to be able to make the long range accuracy shots my POFs make. Its set up for closer work.
The LWRC is lighter and feels more like a DI . The recoil is somewhere in between a DI AR and the POF. Not bad either way.
I have no problem with the predator rails from POF. They are large but I like that. That being said I really like the LWRC's ARM-R rail.
Im having my cake and eating it too right now!

I know I'd just like to see some piston AR outdoor shots with some good scenery behind them. Yours or anyone elses.
I'm going to be looking to do some up myself when I can find a good spot to take some.
It's hard in suburbia!!! I know if someone came upon me a quick call and a swat team wouldn't be far behind.

I'll make sure I bring a good amount of ammo with me.

My wife and I have family in Mississippi and Florida so you never know... Thanks. The Tropicana is still there, they recently got bought out but there are planing some expansion.  In fact they have a "bodys" exhibit.  You know the artist (loose term) that takes bodies of dead chinese prisoners, plastisizes them and displays the pieces.

Maybe sometime this year we can get a piston AR shoot going in Georgia or somewhere relatively good for everyone. Sweet.
(a few M14's and piston .223's thrown in like some XCR's, FS2000's and hopefully a Scar or Masada depending, probably wouldn't hurt either)

I'm kind of glad to hear the Trop is still going. It was one of the last old time casino's it seemed.
It is funny what people consider art some times.

Now this Bushy is not a piston yet.  But I am planning converting it shortly.  Part of the upgrade is a new Trijicon TA11B or Ta01B scope.  The Bushnell turned out to be a little overkill.

I didn't really want to post any pictures, because my handguards are black (M4 style) and my Vltor Clubfoot stock and Tango Down grip are OD green.  I'm going to buy a black M4 stock and black Hogue grip for it...just for the time being.

Guys,

Surely someone has experimented with rail systems for the POF series P-415-14-BP-SF-223.  There has to be one or more rail systems, (free-float or not) that will work.

Any modifications to your handguards?
