Nice rig AR-3. If you don't mind me asking, how do you activate the light since you took off the VFG?

Why is your sling attached on opposite sides? Are you a lefty, or is there some advantage to it? |

It looks great! I have an ever-growing collection of khukris. The khukri is my blade of choice when it comes to big blades. I got my first one in 1987 too. Here's my favorite one: Chitlangi Khukri by Himalayan Imports. It's 21.5" with about 14.5" of blade. I'm planning on doing something similar to what you did, but with OD green material and probably with a pouch built into it for a Leatherman tool. Obligatory pic for AR15 content: |

I usually answer questions on pic threads with IMs but your IM is turned off. It works for both lefty and non lefty. Pic thread - Viking Tactics-LaRue two point sling on my Colt 6721 carbine |

It looks like quite a few people don't know what safeties are used for or how to use them. Could be their hammers are resting on an empty chamber. |

I think the hammer down on an empty chamber is a lot safer than a chambered round on safe!
Atleast when the hammer is down and nothing is in the chamber you have to charge the whole handle back to in order to go. Heck, I don't even keep ammo in my mags! My guns are stored without mags in them as well. I do keep one mag with a few rounds in it just in case of an emergency though. Never know when a zombie might want to break in. |

In my mil days we always stored the rifles on semi with the trigger pressed.

forgive me, i don't know where to post this.
http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/4145/boltcarriergw8.gif is this image accurate? i found it on another website where they were having a discussion about the legality of m16 parts in an ar15. someone said it was illegal to have ANY m16 part in an ar15. others said you could have some but not all the parts needed to convert it to fully automatic. where can i find all the laws concerning ar15s? i bought a complete CMMG ar15 carbine at a gunshow and the carrier that is listed in the pic as an m16 is the same one that my carbine came with. i need to know if i'm breaking any laws here. thx. |
