My once-drowned, freshly restored MAK-90.

The wood is from Tapco's Timbersmith line. I'm happy with it.

My NHM-91 that I converted into a Yugo-style RPK clone. Hardly authentic but it looks a lot better than it did with the original furniture. I used parts I had from previous AKs.

You have to save them to a photo account like photobucket.com.
After you save them to an album, click on "direct link" on the picture you want to post.
Next go to this website and click on the photo icon "Add Image" and right click your mouse and click paste.
And your photo should load. Click Preview before submitting your post to see if it worked. Goodluck

Do it! Mine was just like yours, recently converted to Ironwood. It is the SHIZNIT for those that like wood on their AK's

Where did you get your buttstock and pistol grip? My Mak has that awful thumbhole mess and I really want to switch it out.

Here's mine, it's a Factory 66 type 56s that I picked up in a little gun store outside of Louisville back in 1988, I think I walked out the door with it for $250, still have the box it came in and all the accessories. She's been used quite a bit in the last 20 plus years, I put a few cases of the surplus Chinese ammo through her back in the day. Great little rifle, never given me a lick of trouble, best rifle I've ever owned, I've got a few other AKs, but this one's my favorite.

My MAK 90, sorry for the crappy iPhone pic

-Tapco Stock, Hogue grip and tapco double hook FCG for 922r.
-Firefield quad rail
- magpul VFG
- Bushnell TRS- 25 red dot
-Red star arms retainer plate
- Echo Nine Three V-1 sling mount

Might go to all wood furniture down the road...not sure if I like the whole "tacticool" look at the moment. But for now, definitely want to change out the tapco stock. Sure its cheap and does the job, but its too light and flimsy feeling, and does nothing to counteract how front- heavy the weapon is.

Here's my nib mak90 I just picked up...had a couple scratches on the stock but fit and finish is nice. I plan to swap out the stock and pistol grip to original Chi-comm stuff. Not sure if I want to stay with the orangish blond or do combloc red or Russian rust.

If anyone can help me I am knew to the ak platform and different varients along with pricing. How much does a Mak 90 cost? Give me a ballpark figure.
Link Posted: 1/19/2012 7:48:04 PM EDT
[#50]
You can usually find MAKs for $500-$750 depending on condition. Milled ones go for $800 or more most times.
