A photocopy of a certificate of completion of any of the courses or classes listed below. Do not send your original certificate because it cannot be returned. 2. A copy of any document which shows completion of the course or class or evidences participation in firearms competition; 3. An affidavit from the instructor, school, club, organization, or group that conducted or taught the course or class attesting to the completion of the course or class by the applicant below. Be sure to submit the original (notarized) affidavit but make a copy for your records because it cannot be returned. • Completion of any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or a similar agency of another state; • Completion of any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course; • Completion of any firearms safety or training course or class available to the general public offered by a law enforcement, junior college, college, or private or public institution or organization or firearms training school, utilizing instructors certified by the National Rifle Association, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, or the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services; • Completion of any law enforcement firearms safety or training course or class offered for security guards, investigators, special deputies, or any division or subdivision of law enforcement or security enforcement; • Presents evidence of equivalent experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competition or military service (persons serving in the United States Armed Forces may submit a copy of their Military ID Card; discharged persons may submit a copy of the DD-214); • Is licensed or has been licensed to carry a firearm in this state or a county or municipality of this state, unless such license has been revoked for cause; • Completion of any firearms training or safety course or class conducted by a state-certified or National Rifle Association-certified firearms instructor. The photocopy of your training certificate must be clear and legible and include your name, the instructor’s name, signature, and certification number. Just for the record, the license does NOT limit you to a firearm. It clearly states at the top "Concealed Weapon or Firearm License" So knives, brass knuckles, slingshots, etc. would be permissible under this license. Have fun

Guys: Possible sticky here. I have listed a few States that will provide New York and New Jersey residents with a CCW. You will need to obtain either a Florida or New Hampshire first. Upon receiving either permit you can use that permit to piggy-back for the rest. In my opinion because of our geographical location, a combination of the Florida, Connecticut and New Hampshire would give us the widest coverage Enjoy Iggyort Info for Connecticut CCW . You must have a either a resident CCW from your home state or a non-resident CCW from another state in order to get a non-resident CCW from NH. The only exception is if you are a resident of VT. Since the demise of packing.org carryconcealed.net seems to be the best site for CCW info. |

Just something to remember guys. If you are from New Jersey, you cannot get a PA CCW. PA requires that you have a CCW permit from your home state before they will issue a CCW to a non-resident. No problem at all, just go out and get your NJ CCW first. Well, it was nice to dream ... Mitch |

I had a squirrel pull a box-cutter on me in Central Park after a Laser Show (maybe it was the micro-dots) and have you every seen Monty Python's The Holy Grail???...nuff said about rabbits.  FWIW...a 380 has a little less energy then a 38. With a CTC laser and a fast trigger, a few to the base of the throat will render any "low threat" to a no threat real fast.

| I called FL today and actually spoke to a good, professional woman about expediting mine. I mailed mine in about 10 days ago and it just hit the system today. I might try to assist in one of the hurricane areas and they want you to have a CCW permit which I told her. She was an Army veteran and thanked me for my time in the CG and thought it was nice that I wanted to help out in the current problem zones and the future ones from the storms off the coast coming in. She found a minor glitch in mine and gave me some advice to expedite it by sending in additional info to a fax number and then told me to keep my fingers crossed. She also said the minimum time is three weeks, avergage if you are LUCKY is 45 days and more then half are waiting upwards of 90 days. There it is from the source. Good luck peeps. |

I know it's not illegal, but it's so damn taboo in NJ. Maybe I'll do it in another town. I don't know that I'm comfortable doing it in my town. |

My glitch is 1 in a million. I am adopted and was born in Canada and came south when I was 8 days old via a pre-arranged deal from some extended family. My parents who raised me are from the US, which makes me a US citizen. This has given me years of grief between going into the service, getting my first drivers license, first Passport, you name it. So on this go around, I needed to send in a copy of my Passport to show that I am a US citizen. So if you were born on a military base say in Germany, Japan, Canada, UK, wherever, send them a copy of your Passport to prove your citizenship. And no, I'm not of French desent.
