[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Remington Model 1900 KED Shotgun re-stocking

Well, got another one to work on. Finishing up the SKS still, but I'll start working on this as well. One of the local gunshops gave it to me. The owner said he could find a stock online, but let me take a crack at it. Should be fun!

Why does it need a stock? Is it cracked?

All I can see that's wrong is a broken butt plate. I'd just cut it to length (if needed) and fir a pachmayr pad, and refinish all the wood.

Naw, the stock is cracked through on the other side. Not repairable at all. The owner had it held together with electrical tape.

OK, so this looks to be a Remington Model 1900 KED. With the damasked barrel, I've always understood they shouldn't be shot. Is this true?
