| Who has used Wolf Primers for small rifle and large pistol and what is your assesment as to how they perform against the named brands. |

Guy named "David Tubb" seems to know a thing or two about these new Wolf/PMC primers.
He bought a couple pallets of them - and that is out of every possible brand he could buy. Who is this guy Tubb? Full-auto addict? No, he's strictly an accuracy freak. Pure target shooter. If the primers were not the MOST accurate ones, then why would he buy them? Wolf makes the best rifle primers for reloading out there - bar none. You can learn from the experts. Or you can expirament on your own and see what conclusion you reach. I know which path I will follow. |
| This exact same topic came up about a month ago. Here is my take, I've shot about 2k of the SR primers through my AR with zero problems. Also gone through about 500 SP primers, again zero problems. By all accounts these are great primers at a great price, end of discussion. |

I have used Wolf SRM primers in 223 before the Wolf 223 primers became available.
They work great. When I switched from Win SR primers to Wolf SRM primers in 223, I worked up my standard loads. A 55 gr FMJBT, 62 gr FMJBT, and a match load with a Hornaday 68 gr HPBT. After testing, I ended up with no change in my charge weight, and the 68 gr load was just a little more accurate. I have loaded up loads with the Wolf 223 primer, going out today to try them. Just got in some Wolf LR and LP primers, will try those soon. My advice, get them while you can, I plan on buying more. |

Just picked up 1k Wolf .223 primers and loaded 50 rounds using various headstamp cases.
Had about 10 of the 50 seat high. Primer pockets were clean. Pulled several of the high primers, couldn't see any obvious reason for being high. Measured the thickness of 10 randomly selected primers, averaged 0.117 same as 10 CCI 400's. Never had that happen with 15k CCI or Winchester primers. |

I'll be sticking with my CCI's, unless the wolf are like 1/2 price or something. Wolf primers are made by a totally different company from the Wolf ammo. Wolf primers are darn fine primers. The small rifle primers are extremely accurate as are the small rifle magnums for the highest pressure 5.56 loads. Never had a problem with them. |

Still, the last time I priced them out, they were comparable to CCI's and other american made primers. Again, unless they are 1/2 the price, I'll stick with CCI's. I get MOA with CCI primed loads, at least out of my rifles that are MOA capable.
I see no reason to switch. |

From Wideners: Rem 7 1/2 - $115/5K Win WSR - $132.50/5K CCI Magnum - $128/5K CCI Military - $142/5K Wolf Magnum - $87/5K Many national-class HP shooters are using the Wolf's. They are 40-50% less. For me, loads have no noticable accuracy differences. |
| I tried some Wolf LR for my precision rifle after using BR2s. I did a side by side comparison and although my sample size was small, I noticed two things. First the Wolf Primers increased my average velocity by about 20 fps. Second, my SD was lower. I haven't tried the SMRs yet, but I went ahead and bought a bunch. YMMV |
